Default Lug nut key help?

So I made a thread about my wheels not too long ago and got help from you guys real fast now that I have my wheel I realized I don't have the lug nut key to get them off.

I thought there would be a simple solution to this by calling the dealership where I purchased my car from and asking them but no answer yet.

I went to Advance Auto parts and they couldnt help me out either.

Now I ask you guys for help!

I'm including pictures so maybe that'll help.

The wheel's are 18''-7.5 Konig Unknowns - 4x100 bolt pattern

Excuse the rust guys, the rig is getting a mad clean here soon

Any idea how I can go about getting they key for the wheels?

Thanks![/img]

Who makes the lugs? When you bought them, there should've been a code for a replacement key.

It's hard to tell if those are actual locks... they don't really look like it. You could take it to a wheel shop, and they can probably take em off, or sell you a key.

Ah well that's my problem, when I bought the box the wheels were already on, and I even asked about the lug nut key and they said it'd be in there.

I'm dumb and trusted them and no key anywhere.

So I have no idea about the key number :/

If all else falls, Look into using a large allen wrench. If you do so, Don't just put a lot of force on it, It will round out. Put a little on it and hit the allen with a hammer. If that don't look like it will work easliy, you may have to take it to a shop and let them try. DON'T let them use heat, like a torch. It is too easy to mess up wheels and they will not pay for repairs.
You might also try using a hammer and chisel. This almost always works for me. Put a small cut in outside, top edge and tap it counter-clock wise. Anyways, good luck. Hope this helps

Take it to a Discount Tire or something... they should be able to take em off.

Damn, if you only lived closer.

I kept this key from when we had our NRG xA and these were the lug nuts. Word of advise, once you get them off, trash'em cause they strip out real easy.

I have a set of RSL wheels on my box. They were on it when I bought it a few months ago.
To get them off I went to Autozone and bought a 3 piece hex head set. One of them fit my wheels. I bought a breaker bar to use with them. It worked just fine. Probably spent less than twenty bucks total. ( i'm getting rid of these wheels by the way)

Thanks for the responses...

I actually went to Discount Tire Co. today and they told me they couldn't help me out either.

I'm gonna harass the dealership tomorrow until I get an answer and they follow through, I should've checked for the key, yes, but I mean I just bought a box and I was in la la land after I drove it off the lot.

Anyways, CBS - I do plan to trash these as soon as they're off, no sense in dealing with them anymore than I have to.

Exit, if the dealership doesn't come through I'll take your advice, I'll give the dealership a go first since I'm in no hurry really but thanks for the advice guys.

Try sears auto center. They are usually pretty good about being able to break lugs loose. Otherwise go to a wheel shop they might be able to order you a key that might work.

The dealer isn't going to have a key on hand. If you bought the car used and it didn't have the key, that means the person who traded in didn't trade it too...

A wheel shop is your best move.

It's hard to tell from the pics, but is the hole uneven? It looks like a standard hex, but one of the sides looks shorter.

I'll try sears auto center since one is pretty close to me.

Only reason I was trying the dealership was because I thought to ask about it and the guy mentioned it was in the vehicle, I guess it was a bluff but I'm sure I'll get it figured out, I'm trashing these as soon as I get the new wheel on.

Thanks everyone.

I'm not sure if you got the situation under control but the way I got something like that off is find a socket that will fit snug on that round lug nut. Go 1 size smaller. Go to Home Depot buy that size and beat it on the nut. It'll make marks on the metal and shape it similar to the socket you're using. Because it takes so much power to get it all the way down, you now simply put your ratchet on it and break it loose slowly. Once you get it off, the socket may be saved but it'll be a pain to get the lug nut back out of it unless you have a table vice. Good luck let us know what happened

call around to a few dealerships and not just the one that you bought it from. most of them that do alot of trade-ins on cars have a master set of wheel keys because lots of people trade in their cars with wheel locks on them and forget to give them the key.

so **** your sh!tty dealership that won't just take them off, get on the phone, and i'm sure some halfway decent dealership for toyota/scion or any other high volume trade-in dealership with a service center can do it.
