Nankang Feedback

i have NS II's on my box, performance is ok, i drive pretty spirited around town, and had 3 hours straight of 100+ MPH driving on the way to and from vegas last month, they don't feel like the grippiest tires, but it's all i could afford at the time, and the tread seems to be holding up well.
I've driven in the pouring rain, 100º + temps, freeway driving, bad roads, city traffic and have had no complaints so far.
but ya if i had some extra $$$ at the time i would have totally bought some dunlops, or falkens, or pirellis, nankangs were not my 1st choice by a longshot - but for what i paid, i have had no problems so far (about 6000 miles on them to date)

Wow, people really get into this tire stuff huh? I'd say if you need DATA, check with consumer's digest, or start a pole. I would really try anything new as long as they're NOT recalled. I tried Continental, Federal (have it on my accord currently), Nitto, Yokohama, Michellin, & Pirelli (have that on my xB). Every tire has different pattern and different compound, I know lots of people has likes and dislikes in the way tire feel or handle. Its just weighing between VALUE & RELIABILITY, some consider value more then other to fit their budget, some will choose reliability.

My Nanknags have held up nicely, no complaints here. They have seen plenty of rain in the past week, and in dry they work very well. I would recomend these to anyone who is in need of a touring tire, not a high performance tire.

I have 13000+ miles on mine and they are just fine for me. I haven't had any problems with them and the thred is holding up great. I'm in Miami so that means alot of heat and rain. No spin outs no safety issues as of yet. So I say they are just fine and a good value.

ive owned a set of Nankangs before....i have a wheel shop so i sell all brands of tires. Nankangs are not performance tires. they are a long lasting low profile tire. Are they crap? depends on what you use them for and what conditions you drive in. From what i know they are a wet/dry tire. and last pretty damn long. For those who believe that if they pay big bux for NAME BRAND tires and think they should feel safer should look harder. one of the worse tires ever made was the nitto nt450 and nt555 and these werent cheap tires. i had a set of these before and honestly almost crashed 3 times in the rain. even on dry surfaces the tire was horrible not to mention the sidewalls cracked and bubbled on most of the nitto owners.
if you have a crappy alignment or horrible camber because u are slammed to the floor you cant expect much from any tire. and people fail to take that into consideration when they flame a product. when u get a tire that has a high treadwear like a nankang, you have to expect it to be loud. its a harder compound. or if u want a quiet, sticky tire, well you have to accept the fact that the tire will have a low treadwear and will probably last half the time others will. the choice is yours...

My personal opinion--cutback on one or two of those neon tubes you were thinking about rocking to save some cash--and get better tires than the Nankangs.
Tires are not something you want to mess around with as far as skimping on quality wise...there is a reason why name brands get their reputation.
Take my input with a grain of salt--like I said, my opinion, take it or leave it.

those are two wonderful sources that have plenty of customer opinions and reviews.
don't take 1 person's review, you can read numerous reviews!
make your own decision, and like jdmxb said, save a few bucks from those EXTRAS that don't exactly decide you and your car's life, and dump it onto tires.

take into account also a lot of companies get their reputation from tremendous advertising. As of right now one of the most under-rated tire on the market in Kumho. From what i understand its the top selling brand tire in the US. Aside of that through personal experience BFG is the way to go.

my cousin has these tires on his civic(its just a cruiser). they are pretty good tires for just driving around town. it held up in heavy rain and deep pot holes. tread looks the same from when he bought them. they dont slip or slide at tight corners. i think they are good tires for its price.

The tires do have higher tread wear because they are harder thus grip less. However I have a set on my XB and sold a set to my friend who has had no problem at all she has drag raced on them spead down the high way and has had no problem. my bx stick in the curves but I also have trd springs. In short I have no beef aginst them they came with my rims but when they do go out I'll probally get a diffrent kind but mainly because I've just wanted some nitto's for a while. Also you need to realize there is a mid point between traction and tread wear the nankings grip great for me.
Lastly our cars are not that heavy so our tires don't make as much diffrence like an acura integra that weight a 1,000 pounds more and as far as the speed rating I have heard of an XB or XA over 125 mph (yet)

i've had my nankang ns-II for 10,xxx miles. i wont complain about them because i can't!! these tires my be cheap and hard but they get great grip, and i think they have excellent wet traction. i have driven them hard on interstates curvy as pam anderson and soaked in rain. never did i ever feel like i wasn't in control of my car.
my opion, good tires for cheap!
btw: these tires are 225/40/18 on a 1997 acura cl 3.0 :D
