Default NE1 running 16s?

Cause i was looking at the wheels @ tirerack.com and noticed that they are saying to use a 205/45R16 tire, not the 40 series. Any thoughts?

That sounds about right. Maybe even 50 series, but I'm no expert.

I saw 16's on an XB on ebay from a guy who sells rims and models them on his XB. It just looked wrong. Not enough bling for the buck.

When I go, I'm going 17's.

beware if you want to run 205 55r16s, naacy has a grip of rub with them, i beleive he is runing a 35 or 33 offset too
i plan 205 50 16s on a 16x7 with a 33 or 35 offset

btrny

Yup, I am, 205/55R16, on 16X7.5 American Racing wheels. I like all the sidewall, it really fills up the fender openings, and am very happy with the ride. My speedo is off a bit , but dont know exactly how much. See Ya, Louie
Ted if i have a good pic of your 16s ill post it.

Slopoke – I like that look. What is the correct size for a 16 supposed to be?

Thankx for the compliment, I like it too, its definatly not the ordinary. According to a tire calcualtor, the closest is 205/50R16 and it is 1.4% slow on the speedo. Here is a link to the calculator.

Thanx again, and See Ya, Louie

If you go by the tirerack size guide, you should be running a 205/45R16 on the 16"ers. I dunno, im so confused .........

Slowpoke, do you have a set of drop springs on the xB? It looks like those tires fill up the gap pretty well.

no lowering springs, but i have lowered my car about 1 1/2 " in front and 3/4" in back, with "not so standard methods ". Yea, they really fill the openings up.

What tire pressure are you keeping them at? Do you have any rubbing, or just the speedo being off by a lil?

You didnt use C clamps to hold down those springs, did you?

tire shop told me to leave them at 32psi. no probs with rubbing at all, but i want to lower it another inch, and they may rub with snow chains(cable type).

No Prob, Ill talk up 16s anytime. If I wouldve known the trends in Japan before, I wouldve saved up for some low offset 15s, they look killer. Thats my biggest complaint about my wheels, i think the offset is 42mm, I wouldve looked for some lower offset wheels. At least my rear disk conversion pushed the rear wheels out about 3/8". I'm trying to find some 15x6.5 low offset wheels for my wifes xA, but no luck so far. I want to keep her stock tires since shes gettin bout 40 mpg. I'm lucky to get 25-30 but thats with the slow speedo. See Ya, Louie

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...odeIndex=66655

with this i will be wrapping them in either the yoko h4 or h4s

Ya know, i have an easier time picking out socks and underwear then i have making a decision on these wheels If i had the car here, i would have ordered what i saw first, and then i wouldnt have poseted this P.I.A. question so many times, i feel like a girl who cant make up their mind!

Hey Batute, on the xB, are those 16", and is there a drop in the springs. And same question for the xA. I'm trying to get an idea how much gap there may be running 16"

Thanks
