Need A Set Of 15's, Looking For Input
hey. i'm currently looking to buy some 15's (trying to keep the 17's looking good) and i can't decide between the drag dr20's or the sportmax 501's 15x8 with the +15 offset.
i'd definately get them in gold but my main concern is the lip size. do the 501's really have that much more lip? i have yet to see both rims in person so i'm wondering what you guys think would be a better wheel choice. i like the design of the drags a lot more, but the 501's must look killer moving. also, i'm running a 15mm spacer in the rear so that's an issue as well. what would you guys choose?

With the 501's you won't need to run a spacer. I have the 501's and the lip isn't that bad definitely not a 002 . The 501's are designed to sit somewhat flush with the fenders. I do believe the dr20 you need spacers to mount them. There both nice rims so the choice would be yours.

Go drag dr20s. They might not have the big lip, but they look better and don't have those awful looking lug holes all over them. You'll probably have rubbing issues with the 15mm spacers with the 501's too

i'm currently running 17's with a 215/45 tire. i like the big tire look and clearance i get with this size. i was planning on using a 205/50 tires on the 15's but want to stay close to the overall diameter i have now. anyone know how to calculate that?

well, i figured out the diameter on my 215/45/17's is 24.6 inches, and with a 205/55/15 tire, i'll be at 23.9. figuring the stretch on the 501's, i'll be at least 1 inch lower than i am now and i see some serious scraping in my future. now i need to find out whether a 205/55 tire on a 501 will even work on an xa. this sucks.

I'd go with the 501s. They have much more lip (around 2.5"), and will fill out the fenders more than a high-offset wheel can. I've gotten a lot of compliments about these wheels, and you won't have any rubbing problems, even with 5mm spacers in the back.
