OZ Ultraleggera

OZ Ultraleggera
I was looking for a nice set of dark colored rims to put on my '06 IIP xA as winter winds down, and decided these looked really nice, and they're fairly lightweight too. I'm not a fan of silver rims on dark colored cars as they create too much contrast for my tastes.
They are a new model from OZ to replace the Superleggera - new enough that I couldn't find any pictures of these rims on any cars anywhere on the internet So here's some pictures!
So here's a set of 17x7 +37mm OZ Ultraleggera rims in the matte graphite silver color, wrapped with Falken FK451 215/40r17 tires. Unfortunately, it's not sunny to bring out the color in the pics.
I'm very pleased with the result. It's a good thing I have Goldlines in there or the car would look horrendously jacked up.
Larger versions of the same pictures are available HERE

Nice choice. I personally like the superleggera's a little better because the spokes look a little to thin on the ultraleggera's(they are a little lighter though). The graphite color definately goes well with the dark blue.

Yep - it's lowered 2", which is an infinite improvement over stock. But I wouldn't want to lower it any further because the ground clearance would start having issues with snow, speed bumps, etc, especially if loaded full of stuff. It's my daily driver so I don't need it to be all slammed, it's got to be practical If I want to scrape a car on my driveway then I just get into my Z06 or MR2.
A lot of people who stick 17" rims on their Scions use a 45 profile tire. The 215/40r17 gives exactly the same tire radius as stock for a minimal impact on speedometer accuracy, but at the cost of not looking like it fills the wheelwells out as well as a 45 series tire would. Ironically a 45 while making the car look less jacked up would actually increase the overall ride height of the car by 10mm compared to the 40 series.
Itgb - The superleggera's were pretty much gone from Tirerack before I started looking at rims, so I don't really know what the difference is. But I do like these ones. I was also considering the Wedssports TC-005 in grey that Tirerack sell too - they're several pounds lighter again. But they really have too few skinny spokes! it makes the car look like there's nothing behind the rims, those ones would be better if there were some large brakes to see instead of tiny brakes.

Itgb - I like the superleggera better too (for the same reason, thicker spokes). if tirerack still had them in the finish/size I like, I was thinking of getting them.
also, FYI, according to wheelweights.net the ultraleggera is actually heavier than the superleggera... despite the thinner spokes.
