Default Picking up Rota Slip Streams 16x7 40+ offset....What tires??

Alrite my fellow SL members, I need your guidance once again. I'm going to be picking up a set of Rota Slip Streams 16x7.0 w/ 40+ offset blk/plsh lip @ the end of business today.

My question to you guys/girls is what tire is recommended for this setup. I've read several different post about what tires to run but want to hear everyones recommendation.

I currently own a 06' PW XB w/ 1200 miles. Car will be dropped on S-Techs with Monroe/Napa sensa tracs in rear and Koni up front when rims are put on. I do not want to worry about rubbing so any help you guys/girls can give me would be great. But so far I'm leaning towards a 205/50/16 sumitomo setup? Maybe 215 if possible to get away without rubbing!

Thanks Butch!

My setup is 16x7, +37mm offset with S-Techs. I'm running Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S in a 205/50. That tire size is about as close to the stock rolling diameter as you can get in a 16.

I rubbed a little with the Sensa-Trac front struts. So I put the stock front struts back on and I'm good-to-go now.

My offset is 3mm less though. So maybe you won't rub with the Sensa-Tracs at a +40mm offset, because it will sit a tiny bit further inward.

Thanks XB_factor! Appreciate the post. I'm picking them up around 6PM PST. Good thing is they are free from a buddy! No BS FREEE!!!! So even though the slips are played out here, you really can't complain for free.

I'm probably going to go with 205. But do you think 215 will rub?

I think you'll be better served with the 205. It's plenty wide, IMO. If you get too wide, it's starts to get a little skidish in the rain. A wider footprint can cause that.

I guess I can't say for certain if you'll rub with a 215, especially since you have a +40mm offset. But as I said, I rubbed with a 205, +37mm offset and Sensa-Trac front struts.

And no....you can't beat FREE!!!!

I am also running a 205/50/16 (Yokohama AVS ES100s) on my 16x7 +35 wheels (with a 15mm spacer in the rear).

Alrite, wasn't able to pick up the rims yesterday. But hopefully I can pick them up today.

It looks like i'll be going with the 205/50/16 since know one seems to have any really bad issues with rubbing. Thanks for the help.

I'll post picks of the rims once I pick them up. Just basic Rota Slips nothing special.

45's with the Bay Area roads are really scary. Especially because its been raining mostly all last month and for the most part this month. 45's are way to thin for me. But thanks for the post.

I wouldn't go with the 45 series unless you're slammed. I think there'd be too much wheel gap.

Awesome picture majicman! The XB actually looks great with the Slips on!

Sushiboy- Agree with you there buddy. 16's are a pretty small size rim to run 45 series. That would make the rim look even smaller not to mention the wheel gap would look horrible.

metal- Please check sticky in the Wheel & Tire section. Gives you a good break down of what Tire Size and offsets are! Thanks!

I'm running 205/50's with Pirelli PZero Nero's.

Perfect size, and it's the closest to stock.
