Default Please help...no clue on wheels/tires?

I have no clue what offset is or what diff numbers on tires mean but I am looking to get new rims and tires. Here is what I want and maybe someone can help me out. I have a stock xB and am NOT going to lower it. I just want to get some 16's without any rubbing or rough ride. I would like a nice looking size tire on the rim though but not a real low profile. Can someone tell me what ideal rim size like lug and offest to look for and what tire size to llok for as well. Like I said I just want a 16 inch rim with a basic tire no low low profile and its NOT getting lowered. Thanks for anyhelp guys.

Like I said I read the sticky and still am very dumb when it comes to wheels and tires. I found the specs to the wheels I like and am wondering if someone can help.

Here is my goal again:
Like I said I just want a 16 inch rim with a basic tire no low low profile and its NOT getting lowered.
Here is the wheel measurement: 16X7 4-100/114 42
What would I need to make this sit somewhat flush with the sides of the xB?

Can someone match up a nice size tire that isn't too low profile but not a n ugly look that would still ride nice. Thank alll.

you could always add rear spacer shims from one ton garage so the rims are more flush to the rear fender.

The bolt pattern you want is 4 X 100
42 offset will look very sunken. Like pandaist said, get the rear spacer shims from Van at OneTonGarage: http://onetongarage.com/products/rea...him/index.html
That will add almost 10mm to the rear .

As for tires, it looks like people are running 205/40 to a 205/55, with someone with a 7.5 width running a 215. The first number refers to the width, the 2nd the sidewall height - the lower the number the lower the profile.

Hope that helps...

So by adding the 10mm shim would that basically make it like a 32mm offset essentially instead of a 42mm.

So only spacers on the rear? would the fronts look ok without them, will they sit flush already?

The front has a wider track than the rear. If you need more in the front, you can use wheel spacers. You can probably run a 3mm OK, more than that and you'll need to get longer wheel studs. Same goes for the rear if you need more than the shims.
