putting stock tires onto aftermarket rims?
Hi guys i've had my tC for a few months now but i am still a newb at rims and tires so i would really appreciate if you tuners could answer a question i had. I know someone selling gunmetal Volk GT-Ns. The Specs on the rims are 17 x 7, 5 x 100 and +29 offset. here's my question guys. Would I be able to swap my stock scion tires onto these rims? i'm assuming I would be able to because they are both 17 x 7, but then again i'm still a newb to this so i wanted to ask you guys since you all know more than me.. any replies would be really appreciated. thanks guy

The tires will fit, but why you'd want to keep them is beyond me (other than financial reasons). These potenza's are crap, probably one of the biggest contributors to this car's understeer...other than going too fast. Seriously. If you're going to get new shoes, might as well get matching laces.
...but I echo Marc, make sure the backspacing is correctso you aren't rubbing anything on either side of the wheels

thanks for the replies marc and flapjacks. yeah tires have a offset of + 29. the guy is supposed to get back to me with the offset of the rims. the only reason i want to switch the stock wheels onto the volks would be because i don't have enough money for the tires right now. I plan on getting new tires early next month. thanks again!
