It's not a question of originality. It's about quality - meaning: what you get for your money!

Rota does not hide the fact that they make copies, but at least they don't charge ridiculous prices.

I commend Work as well for making quality high end wheels for reasonable prices - as far as high end wheels go.

hmm.. i guess that does make sense.
but honestly, jdmxb is right, i think that
them people spending hundreds of dollars
on ____ty quality audio equipment, and budget
lcd's just to say they got them are idiots.
especially if they're the ones that probably think
its stupid to spend money for quality rims. those
people also rock primered cars, bodykits, no rims no
paint, no drop, but they're "raced out"

anyways. i guess u always will get what u pay for..
instead of having temporary rims for the duration of
owning my car, i can just have 1 set. it works out fine
for me. its also true in my circle of friends who have
quality wheels. taiwan and phillipines just aren't quality.

i guess u get what u pay for, and although rota is a good
alternative to spending a lot on rims...
buyer beware.

whats next?

Show me a rim that won't bend of crack when its slammed into a curb going at least 15 mph.

Two sides to every story.

If obvious in the pics that those wheels didn't just come apart from daily driving.

Heck, even I had a set of Tenzo RS5s where I bent a rim just driving to work because of all of the potholes on the freeways.

i remember when i first saw those xB's with the Work wheels at a local meet. I was surprised to see them in 4x100 with such dish. My friend said, "those wheels must cost more than the car." LOL.

I like originals because of the rare-ness, especially among older wheels. It does bother me that copies exist, but when you have the originals you get more props. I remember when I had Volk AV3's back in 1996. People rolling look-a-like Konig Monsoons would feel ashamed when I rolled up next to them. hahaha.

What really bothers me is when a company makes a copy and markets/sells them at a premium price....*cough*axis*cough*

yea! axis is guilty as charged! hahaha

tenzo rs5 = 5zigen 5zr copse..
thats probably why, just another rim company who bites..
tenzo shu4... shumachers..
tenzo sinco .. mugen rnr..
tenzo RS5... 5zigen 5zr(copse)...
tenzo gt05 - racing hart cpftuner r's...
tenzo c's... racing hart c2's...

eh, anyways,. if u do a lil searching, u'll see theres law suits against rota. rota actually announced that if u had a set of subzeros pre 03 or something, they will replace for free.
theres a reason for that... couple of wrx owners had to
pay the price..

more power to the people who get rota's.. just wanna buyer beware.... oh dude av3's were the ____..
and when konig monsoons hit! it was crazy! everyone and their mom had some.. rig ht around what? 97? 96?

Joey,

Please show me an aluminum wheel that won't bend or crack when its slammed into a curb going at least 15 mph.

Not everyone can afford the real deal as I previously posted.

Maybe someone doesn't want to rock $3k wheels on a vehicle that use to daily commute in that was only $15k to begin with.

Everyone has their own tastes and what wheel they like and dislike.

"To each his own".

just a few of the threds that showed up when looked up "Rota" on Nasoic.org...i read about a Rota issue before, so that's why i searched...they admitted about a mistake, recalled wheels, and as far as i know replaced them for free...even a Rota wheel rep came into the forums to clarify things and answer emails from concerned customers with a damaged wheel or non damaged wheel...for their price, i think they are great wheels

At least Rota's are cheap to replace and you don't have to wait 3 months to get them.

I'm all about authentic wheels, but sometimes it just doesn't make sense economically. I personally have ____ty wheels for daily driving, and good wheels for when i fee special.

Now the Rota D2 that autornd is coming out with are as good an offset as any custom Work Wheel. Talking 8.5" wide front and rear, with low 20s offset. Now that can't be beat.

If these replica guys start coming out with low offset wide wheels, the "JDM" market is going to be having problems.

US=price point market, tiz the problem i've encountered.

If you can't beat em, join em, as a "vendor would say".

I will like to say that running real ____ will always gain you that much more respect. At least you can say you're "One of the FEW."

Peace, Rishie

I don't think JDM market will have any problems,
who ever is going to pay $3k~$5k for a set of rims. they know exactly what they are buying and its not just about having a low offset set wheels to look good , its about the quality which they will never get from cheaper brands !! JDMP
