Default shoulda bought 18's

after this whole ordeal on some messed up 18's I bought, I opted to get the 17's for a small price decrease somewhere else. Just got them on my car. The wheelwell gap got larger and looks stock again...lolz. I thought it wasn't gonna be much of a difference between the 17's and 18's, but man.....Oh yeah, I'm dropped 1.75" on springtech springs

im running goldlines (2") and the only way to have zero wheelgap with 18s is to run a 215 40 with those springs instead of the regular 215 35 18 .. so even if u had gone with the 18s .. and that 1.75" drop .. ud still have gap

as for 17s .... i would have gone with a 205 or 215 45 17" ... that would have helped the wheel gap some .. im assuming ure running 205 40

19s are just flat out retarded ... i dont understand how any of you drive with these

i had 18s on my car and it was a SLUG ... acceleration SUCKED ... good luck trying to go past 80 without effort ...

it was NOTICEABLY faster with 15s on it ...

and you dont have to have 19s to get no wheel gap

just the right size tire and drop ...

18s with 215 40s = no wheel gap

and im sure you could have the same effect with 17s and 45 series tires

cmon now saying 19's is retarded isnt right...go peeps out the 19's on dennys car..he has custom made forged rojas..acceleration is fine on that car. Also, fyi, if u want no wheel gap, drop it lower =) thats my suggestion...i have 215/35R18 w/ a 2.5" drop and its not bad 19's i had it on a 3" drop and it looked gangster =)

im talking about the performance aspect of things

i will admit that 19s do look good .. but u sacrafice so much ...

i was saying it more in the sense that you dont have to go to 19s just to have no wheel gap as AIRECK recommended...

and you are right .. it is personal preference... i just dont understand how any of you people drive with 19s and 20's ... especially on an auto xb ... my stick xb with 18s was noticeably slower and i have an injen short ram .. (that helps a little)

i didnt in anyway mean that people are retarded for having 19s .. i guess it just came out wrong .. so my apologies on that front

this is from personal experience but i am not slower with my 19's .... getting to 80 mph is bad at all ... you do sacrifice a few things ..all minimal.. but you are right its a about personal preference....
hey some peeps love 15's and you can't do anything to change their minds... but as for wheel gap ..
going lower will fix it but you would need a coilover setup ...
and there is less gap on my 19's to those 18's and im on DF210's and still want to go lower. but thats JMO!
... have a nice day!

i will disagree with one thing .. YOU ARE SLOWER ... unless you have some super light weight 19s ... you are def slower... acceleration to 80 is going to be slower then it woudl take me to get to 80 ... jsut by sheer weight and size of your wheels vs stock size wheels and tires

but its def all preference and i didnt meant to knock anyone that has 19s .. i just wanted to say i dont understand how you guys can do it .. i wanted to kill myself with how slow the 18s made my car

i have respect for whatever mods people want to do and didnt mean any disrespect to anyone with my posts

No need to apologize, I know what you meant, just wanted to give someone a hard time

I am not all for speed, so I am more for the show of it. So I understand your logic.

keep in mind the tall-ness of the tire is what really makes a gap or not..
runing a 195/60 will give u lots of tire
instead of a 195/50 or what not.

Slam it when they're not looking.

^ That's a joke. Never disobey your wife or you might be sleeping on the couch.
