Default spacer/offset ?

ok i just orderd some 18" konigs with a 45mm offset. i want to push the wheels out just to the lip of the fender. im looking at the H&R spacers. I did some math
if i got the 25mm spacers. it would drop the offset down to 20mm. If i go with the 20mm spacers it will drop the offset to 25mm or i could go with the 15mm it would drop it to 30mm. or the 10mm that would drop it to 35mm. what spacer kit should i get for the rear?

thanks much.

Need more information, such as rim width (I'm guessing 7.5), tire size (I'm guessing 215/35), also how low is that drop (I'm not familiar with those springs). I just went through all of this, so I have a little knowledge on the subject that I'm willing to share.

yeah its 7.5 and the drop is 1.7 but i dont know about tire size. all i can say is that its going to be as low profile as can be

Ok, I'll tell you this: I'm running 18x7.5, 42 offset wheels, 215/35 tires, under a 2" drop. I'm running 15mm spacers up front and 10mm shims along with 10mm spacers (20mm all together) out back. I don't think I could go another 5mm, but you might be able to go 5mm more than me because you are pushed in 3mm more than I am. I don't rub but a little in the front only when the wheel is turned all the way to the right (and not enough to hurt anything). I'd say you'd definitely be safe with 20mm in the rear, maybe even 25mm, especially since you're not as low as me. If you really want to be sure, go buy a couple sets of cheap 5mm spacers from pep boys and put them on top of each other with your wheel on top to make sure you have the clearance (don't drive on them, of course). I hope I helped. Good luck!

You could buy wheels with a +38 offset or lower. That would flush the wheels to the fenders better. I would alway start with buying wheel designed for your xb, not hondas

^^^^I have Konig's also and love them...It sucks that the 18" only come in 45 offset, that's why I went with 17's. I didn't want to mess with spacers or shims. Post pics when you get them on...

Is safety not a factor with anyone anymore? Use what is designed for your vehicle. Big companys don't spend billions in R&D for no reason.

If you are going to use shims at least get ONE that is the proper width and don't stack them. You should also change your studs out for longer ones as well, which may require different lugnuts depending on your application.

if he runs shims in the rear, he doesnt need longer studs. now if he uses spacers, it's a different story....

I don't think anyone has talked about stacking them except for when I told homeboy to stack a bunch of cheap spacers just for size measurements (I specifically told him NOT to drive on them). You use the term shims but I think you're talking about spacers. I'm running spacers and shims in the rear, which is not stacking since the shims go behind the drum brake and the spacers go between the drum and the wheel. I'm running longer studs in the front and rear also. I don't think it's the safest for all applications, but then again I'm not drag racing my xB. I ran thick spacers on my last vehicle, which was a heavy truck, for 6 years with no problems.

If you check out the One Ton Garage Shims, they fit amazingly well and I dont even question the safety of having those installed. For the spacers, I also was looking at theirs because they are smoothed machined to have most surface area touching the drum and the wheel although this may seem safer I am still unsure if I would do it on my car.

it's funny the amount of research people do just to get flush wheels....lol
wanting to be different? Everyone on here is putting on Honda wheels. then they have to find the correct spacers/shims/whatever just for them to work right. i am surprised how mant people have looked at my car and asked if I had spacers. Please....

Seeing that your name contains the acronym "JDM", you must have had to do some research yourself in order to stunt the look of Japanese teenagers. I personally don't care for the "JDM" deep dish, stretched tire, rim beyond the fender look; it reminds me of the Latino low riders from the 70s and 80s. But hey, it's all about doing what you think looks good, right? Hell, I rode fwd wheels and spacers on my old truck because I didn't like rwd wheels!

Wow Jim... that is impressive. All of the work and money to get custom offset wheels so that you don't need to use spacers. And in the end your wheels stick out past your fenders. Great fitment. You are definitely the one to be talking down on people for choosing the rims that fit THEIR liking.

And before you run over to my profile and start running your mouth about the "Honda fitment" Konig wheels on my xB, don't waste your breath. Those wheels are my wife's choosing, on my wife's car. Not my first pic, but they are nice. And yes, she has spacers. OTG 3/8" spacers that I chose to add just to help with clearance in the rear.

If and when I get my own xB, I will have custom built wheels. They will be ordered from a domestic company, and be built to my specs. And when it is all said and done they will tuck. And not just the top of my over-stretched tire.

my wheels tuck in my fenders too. My wheels are also custom built. Being yours will be made in the USA, they will still not be cheap for a "custom build". I like wasting my breath about. Get your wheels in a +28 front and a +25 in the back and your wheels won't stick out past your fenders. Look here----> www.na-dreams.com under gallery. There were about eight really nice xB at this show that had waaaaay more mods than I had. I must have done somthing right.
