Default Speedo Calibration with larger wheels

How is everyone calibrating thier speedo with the larger wheels, or are they not and just running around with the speedo off some?

I know my speedo is off 3-4mph on the high side with my TRD 18s and 35 series tires. Best way to find out? Slide by one of those radar setups that has the speed display facing you. Gives you a good idea.

FYI, your dealer can re-program your vehicles computer to the diameter of your new tires to correct the error!

its usually not that bad that you need to get it re-done. you'll usually run out of fender before you get too big that you need to calibrate.

Alex, you are running 59.5 (assuming you have the 215/35/18 tires) on the TRDs when stock would be 60. It's not that bad.

Thats pretty good actually.

^ there you can calculate the right tire for your size of rim to reduce the mismatch. I was running bigger wheels and didnt recalibrate. You really dont need to if you stay within 3% of stock diamater. (i believe thats what they say, Roger can probably elaborate better).

Roger, do you have actual informatin confirming that, or is that just a generalized statement?

Neither Scion Corporate nor any dealer so far contacted has even agreed that it is possible with the Scions, to the best of my knowledge...

If you have the technical information, it would help a lot of you could share it.
