Are there better times to buy rims/tires?
Hey all, I have a weird question. I've been looking around for a decent set of rims, and checking out manufacturer sites, I see that they have closeouts, older styles that are getting retired, etc. Is there a better time of year to buy rims and tires as a package if I'm going through an online retailer? Just curious.

There's no way to tell when sales may be better than others....however, I would bet that around Christmas their sales would be smaller then the rest of the year and prices would be lowered to attract buyers.
That's how it works for car dealerships--around Christmas, no one is looking to spend $$ purchasing a car so they are more willing to work with you to get a deal made and offer incentives.
I bought my last car just before Christmas, and when I went to register it on Dec. 12th at the DMV the place was empty. I was in/out in about 10 minutes. The rep said that it's always like that in December at the DMV.
I'd be willing to bet that it's similar with aftermarket companies, even though they may see a few sales that are considered gifts. But you can find good sales all year round...

Heres a little hint from a person i know ( My cousin ) that works for Boyd Coddington, and is a Engineer for the Billet Dept.
Wait until SEMA is over, and start looking at ads! All the companies are going to want to either discontinue, or close-out that years wheels to set up for the upcoming year.
