Default Tires: Hankook Ventus R-S2 vs Falken Avenis RT-615

Looking for tire to fit the stock 17x7 wheels that will be mostly used for street and the occasional track day. I am going with Raamaudio's advice and will be keeping the 215 tire width to keep sidewall flex to a minimum. 225 sizes are avialable in both tires so there is that option as well. Im not too worried about very wet conditions as it rarely rains here in SoCal.

Hankook: http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...d=008806&ar=45

falken: http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...07&rd=17&ar=40

So heres the deal...the tires both have a 200 treadwear rating and have a price dfference of $18 per tire so price differece is a non-issue. I know Raamaudio uses the Hankook and is very happy with them, but I have friends with the Falkens who rave about them as well.

Your opinions please...Thanks in advance!

That is a great tire, I thought in the PM we were talking about the 215 which was good, the 615 far better and deffinately higher performance than the Hankook.

Also, most likely noisier, harsher ride, heavier, not quite as good in the rain but on an autocross or road course, go for it

Also check out the specs on thier website and any others you can find, sometimes the size numbers are really not comparable from one tire to another, maybe not that much shorter.

Hmmm harsher ride, heavier and not as good in the wet...always a trade off right?
