Default What are the best looking 17inch rims in terms of....

....looking bigger than they actually are? I like 18's but drive a lot and am concerned with the ride quality on 18's. .I'm going with 17's because they're big enough to look good but offer a better ride quality than 18's from what i've heard. Opinions and wheel recommendations appreciated.

many have commented on blueboxes setup as looking larger than 17's while still being 17s

but i think both your drop and your tire profile can affect the look as well.

Ok, here is the secret for getting 17s that look bigger, like 18s.

1. Make sure you pick a rim style that you like. This is more important than making them look BIG...but i'm getting to that next.

2. Make sure that the spokes of the wheel GO ALL THE WAY OUT TO THE EDGE OF THE LIP OF THE RIM. If you get rims that have convex spokes, or just spokes of any sort that end BEFORE the actual last piece of rim before the tires--they will look like small.

Remember...be sure your spokes go ALL THE WAY OUT to the edge of the rim.

ditto what JDMxB says above. i have 17s and my spokes go all the way out. most think i'm running 18s, and not 17s.

Default i have these 17s

i like WORK wheels or LONGCHAMP XR-4s, yes they can get pricey but wheels to me are the most important mod to get for any car, you gotta bite your lip sometimes and spend the money. i myself will be spending some money for wheels again after i sell my set of WORK vs-mx wheels. if interested they are 17x7s. email me at mikeseez@***.net

here are some pics

Default 17's looking bigger

Also, make sure the wheels you get are the lowest offset possible for the Scion. This will bring the wheel out flush with the fender to give it the largest look possible. High offset wheels will make the wheels look smaller as they'll be tucked under.
