Default wheel shake above 60

Got new ultra 16 x 7 chrome rims w? 205/50/16 continental zeon tires.Handle great, ride great, but don't dare hit 60+.steering wheel vibrates like crazy.I am lowered on df210's and the rest is stock. They have been rebalanced 3 times in 1 week and can't seem to get rid of shake. Everything is perfect w? stock wheels. This rim seems very heavy towards the outside.Just wondered if anyone out there has had similar issue.
Thanks!

That's cool. The guys at the garage are too! They even called Ultra for suggestions and were blown off cause "we haven't made that rim for 3 yrs. so we can't help you."
I have a feeling that the weight of the rim at the outsied is too much for the car.Probably not it ,but just a hunch. My first go around with small cars with big tires.Always had pickups and a vette.

find a shop that has a roadforce balancer. They may have to spin the tire due to a heavy spot. You'll pay more for the balance but it is the best in the business.

I agree with p34life. You can find the nearest one to you at www.gsp9700.com.

Hey thanks for the suggestions, but that is what they used to balance! These guys mount and balance every day ,everything from 4x4wd's to motorcycle trailers and they are perplexed. I think we are just going to go with a different tire/wheel combo and be done with it.Thanks for everyones help

Are you using plastic hub rings or aluminium?

Rings are a good idea. However, it sound like you have a bad tire. Go to a tire shop and have them road force test them. This will tell them and you if you have a bad spot inside the tire. It may look just fine but, still have a bad spot. Also take a very close look at the wheel on a balancer to make sure it don't have a bend in it.

try to do on car balance........its mostly will fix your problems.....it cost more but work real good....I used to have 17" on my sedan and it shake like crazy when hit 80 but it change to slightly shakes after I do the on car balance.
They do the balance without take the wheel out, so they can find the real problem (spot on the tire and wheel). hope that help......

Get the same size tire in another brand. I was talked into a set of Kelly tires by the guy at the Goodyear shop. I will never buy Kelly tires again. After all the above mentioned ways to balance wheel/tire combo's they have always shook from 63~78mph.
