Default When you're streching 215 tires over a 17x8.5 wheel...

is it better to go with a stiffer sidewall tire or a normal soft one?

i'm trying to get a good balance of strech and wheel safety (i don't want bent wheels every month)

i'm planning to get a 45 profile tire on it, but 40 profile opinions are welcome too

THANKS!

no...or not yet. hah.
mainly depends on who you drive
and the conditions on the road.

Work are masterpieces
so just be extra careful. =)

I am running the same setup Zach had. 215/40/17 ziex 512's on 17x8.5

I've been running them for a couple months now and luckily haven't bent anything. I've been debating if I should go up to a 45 series.

Once any tire gets stretched out, I'm not sure if a stronger sidewall is going to help. When I look at my stretch, especially up front, it make me nervous. lol..

I'm running my stock wheels now and love driving the box now. Just doesn't look as cool. :D

hmm. it's gonna be a bit larger than stock. speedo will be off by more than 5 mph. 9.5's are a bit wide for 215's but would work.

it should work.

yeah it should work def try for the 35's tho. theyre still about an inch larger than stock diameter but when stretched they will lose some diameter.

i don't believe thats much of a stretch at all. i have 15x8's with 185's on them. you are putting something 30mm wider on a wheel thats a half inch wider.

bent rims depend on potholes in your area...
