I guess I didn't contemplate too long. Went to ebay and couldn't pass them up for 49.99 + shipping.

Will be rockin' moonies shortly

Do you think those would affect the brakes? They have no cooling holes.

I imagine they would improve fuel economy though.

Tuesday Tuesday Tuesday.....I can hardly wait! That's when the moons and billet grill are supposed to arrive. I think it'll look tight together, completing an over all brushed aluminum look on my tmc box. Just added a nice black pinstripe yesterday that gave it a classy, subtle pop. I'll get some pics up when the transformation is complete. I was inspired by bluBox,s pinstripe at the Greensboro meet. Saw hot lava on my way t Asheville right after the meet. GO BOX'S

Brake heat is really only an issue if you're doing a lot of really hard braking from high speeds -- like roadracing. Normal stop-and-go driving is no problem. Remember, all cars used to have full-coverage hub caps.

Default Moon Disc Removal

So after about two weeks with my new moon discs from Big B Auto, the wife took the xB through an automatic car wash and bent one of them. It's one of those car washes with the things that hold onto your front wheels and pull you through as it washes. Sorry for all the technical lingo.

Anyway, I'm probably going to order a new set of 4, since I'm sure this will happen again on a curb, car wash, etc. Does anyone know a safe way to remove these discs? I tried to pull them off with my bare hands like I did with the factory covers, but they're stuck. Pry bar? Screwdriver?

I use a screwdriver and just keep working my way around (like opening a paint can) until I'm sure not to bend 'em when I use my hands. I put the flat edge between the rim and cover and give the screwdriver a half turn

Here's another source for old school hubcaps.

http://www.go-kat-go.com/50sstylhub.html

On removing caps: Tire stores have a special pry tool for this task. The thing to remember is not to take too big a bite at one time. Just work your way around and the cap will come off easily.

I ordered a set of Dzus fasteners for my salt flat discs. These should work better than the previous threaded fasteners, one of which backed out resulting in the loss of a cap. Hopefully things will be together in time for the Canyon Breakfast!

I want these on mine so there may be 2 Xb's on Moon's in Charlotte
BTW how much were they?
