I dunno, it has been raining since I got my car (5 days - my friends think the car is cursed), and it seemed ok. Granted my last car was a little RWD rocket so anything would seem safer in the rain!

Yes the stock Bridgestones do suck pretty bad. I haven't really had too much of a problem in the rain, but I do drive pretty conservatively when it is wet out. The main problem is that they are harsh without having very good overall grip. Plus, they have very poor feedback to the driver. At first I thought that was due to the suspension setup, but most people have noticed a huge difference by just changing the tires.
I just plan to beat the crap out of these tires for about a year before getting some real tires (and maybe some coilovers/sway bars/wheels).

Raining here today (just like in the rest of the northeast... what a crappy week). At lunch I decided to see how easily the tires break free in the wet, so I accelerated a little more aggressively than I usually do in the rain. Sure enough, the tires broke traction right away and kept spinning until I shifted to second gear. Pathetic.
Seeing as I ride my motorcycle whenever it's nice out, I'll pretty much only be driving the tC in crappy weather. Going to have to get good wet-traction tires to replace these RE92s, but I'll wait till spring. Only another 2-3 weeks before it's time to put on the snow tires, at this point...

My tC came with yokohama's thank god. I had bad experiences with potenzas when I bought my 03 Camry. My camry lost control in the rain while driving 50-55 on a rainy day on the highway , luckily there was no accident, but scared the hell out of me. I didn't know it was the tires until I brought my car in for 10,000 mile service they told me I need new tires, tires were going blad on the outside ridge where u can even see the wires. I had an alignment done once a month at the time too....

I have an 06 and I still got stuck with potenza's. Just for fun when it was raining last week i decided to see how long i could get them to spin when it was wet out... ya, not until I shifted into 5th gear. I wonder, my scion dealer says that they'll replace the tires for free once they get to a certain wear level... Think I can go a little further and complain that i feel that my safety is threatened in foul (and sometimes dry!) weather and see if they'll replace them with yoko's?

My xB is due the 29th of October. I was at the dealers yesterday and noticed that their demo with stock 15" alloy wheels had Goodyear Eagles on it. I asked the salesman and he assured me that mind would have the same. This may be a case od salesman desease!

My mother's xB came with the Goodyears, they are better than the RE-92's at least. I am looking to get some 15x7 SOMETHINGS, and seeing if just stretching the tire out will help with dry traction and stiffness. If this isn't a real big change (not expecting it to be honestly), I might break down and buy some Yokohama ES100s in 205/55/15 size. I had these tires on my 03 civic, and they were the best modification I ever did to the car.

hell no, the Goodyears suck lots of *****, I spun out on a sweeper going no more than 65. Sure going that fast through a turn on a wet surface sounds bad but the catch is is that I spun out on sprinkler water dribble...wtf. Time to get either Dunlops, Yokohama, or Falkens

i think people just need to slow down. i live in ohio and i've driver for years in terrible weather, you just get used to it. i just don't like the wheelhop i get when i need to accellerate on demand, i'll buy the engine damper eventually
i have the stock potenzas.
my next tires will be pzero neros.
