i didnt say i would lay the cf , i'm saying it'd be alot cheaper and easier to reproduce them in cf versus two hoods with labor and such.

My bad hotbox, I thought you were implying that you were gonna do it yourself, b/c you said you work on your own car.

Default Any update?

Man this hood looks sooooo good....

Sweet

Any idea if you are going to make copies? also would you mind if others did this on their own...

I don't like taking ideas unless its ok with the original creator

too bad you can't find a pre-made one yet. He got the idea from lowbox, and then made it himself. So for now, if you want one, ya gotta MAKE one.

Raising old threads from the dead!!

I ordered several hoods/parts from the parts dept. today. The xB hood NEW wholesale was only $150 and no tax (so retail would be what?? $180ish...). That's still cheap even retail. Asked about the Celica hood price - NEW you're looking about $250ish. Even at a junk yard, you'll be lucky to get either of those parts for that price if in perfect new condition.

For a change - something at the dealer is CHEAP!

If you're worth a crap at body work and have a TAX ID#, you could make the hood for $450ish (or only $300 if you don't mind cutting up your stock hood). $400 for the 2 hoods and $50 for the paint (and this is assuming you don't have to buy any tools, welders, sprayers etc...).

I'd rather layout $300-450 or so for a good steel hood than $300 for a flimsy plastic hood.

Default impressive

that thing is really sweet. you should see if you can get it to a place where they can mass produce it- tell them you have a significant customer base (show them this thread) and make em pay ya for the design!!
