ppfft....mine probably got hit on I-75 too, but I am in atlanta....I guess there are some states that actually require insurance companies to replace the windshield for free, but from what I have heard that is only for cracks in your line of sight...

I did say 'for the most part,' Redneck.

This is my xB's fourth windshield, but only one was replaced because of damage while driving.

(Long story short: First was the OEM windshield, second was from four chunks of concrete thrown over an eight foot tall cyclone fence onto my less-than-500-mile xB in its carport, the third was when I refused to accept #2 because of defective glass and poor installation, #3 was the one with the 210 MPH rock fired through it, and #4 is alive and well, heading for Montana in a week...)

Hopefully #4 will survive the trip across two mountain ranges, etc.

I dunno about xBs, but Jeff Jeep's hatch window blew up in my garage... Jeff was about a week old and no one was in the garage with him - he'd been parked about two hours. We heard the report from the livingroom... Whap!

Wow Tomas. Scion should have put velcro around the edge of your glass. It would make for easier installs.

Default gone through 2

so my scion xB is on its 3rd windshield... the first on was definately a stress fracture right across the drivers side.. eventhough the dealer tried to tell me that the star crack that was over 6 inches away from the fracture caused it... but they replaced it with only a little bit arguing... then the morning after i got the first one replaced i got out to my car and there was another...straight up from the bottom... i drove 20 mi home nothing hit my windshield... i took it to the dealer... and now 2 weeks later i got it fixed at the dealers expense of course... this time the dealer told me that they found a chip underneath the drip panel between the hood and the windshield... how I got a chip under there is bologna... cuz im not sure it humanly possible to do it on accident... the dealers to the point where when i walk in everyone knows who i am and why im there... i think the design on this car is whack... love the space and style... but not much else...

My xA is on my 2nd with a few small chips in it. The first one got a pretty big rock close to the bottom and it was in the summer, so it was spreading fast, even when I put my windows down. I gotta get the chips on my current one filled before anything else happens. Cuz I really don't want a 3rd windsheild.

It depends on how and where things hit too. I'm on my original windshield and it'll be 3years in Dec, and almost 70K in it, 75 a day on Bay Area freeways. I've got at least 5 good chips/cracks and they don't run or grow at all. One happened the first month I had it, one is a big star. I wish they would grow so I could get my ins to replace it. It is so pitted from smaller stuff it looks like it has been sandblasted...

mine got cracked by the lawn company at work, but I didn't even think about that or the 40 dents/chips in the paint all down one side of my car till a week ago, and its been nearly 6 months, I haven't replaced my windsheild, I'm going to cheat, order the glass, and have the guy at work install it for free
