Default Did some orange stay stuck???

Here is a tip for those that had some orange reflector stay stuck in the groove when they cleared the stock HLs.
You can take an old toothbrush, heat the end and make a 90 degree bend. Then put some flat black paint on the tip and use this to black out that remaining part of reflector. Once it dries you can reach up inside and clean away the black that got on the chrome parts with a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol.
I had just got a set of used HLs that had this problem with one of them and I was surprised how weel this corrected the problem. Hope this helps someone.

there has to be another way of clearing you HL other than breaking out the amber reflector. when i blacked out my HLs the reflector just snaps in and out using two little tabs to hold it in place. but if you dont plan on peeling apart your HLs then maybe breaking it is the only way?

Well the piece I had to deal with was majorly stuck in the slot. First I metled a couple hole in the piece and tried to work it out and all it did was break some off. I broke out enough so you could only see the orange head on. This is where the black comes into play. It makes the last little part of orange match the other one with the dark empty slot.
The thought of putting it in an oven freaked me out so I'm glad they were almost done already.
