Default Discuss HID Blue light armor: Yay or Nay?

I have Blue HID headlights which are great/bright. They also are supposedly legal in all of U.S.
Now this Head light armor/protection: these are available in HID blue as well, & IMO would look sharp on my BOP box. They are supposed to shine thru bright white, so I shouldn't have any legal probs w/ 'em,,,or should I??? (cuz of the blue "look" when Not lit up...)

So does anyone have Blue headlight protection, how are they, & any issues w/ 'em? ty

My buddy has it on his TCM, and had no issues.

Default hmmm

very tempted my boy, very tempted.

But I need some reassurance from U ScionLifers! Go for it? & does N.E.1 know where to get 'em for a decent price (as in under $35-40 like the H.A. website has)

I Gotta be SURE, cuz these are a 1-time deal; should I need to remove the blue covers they cannot be used,,,so it has to be a final decision

I've got them on my BSP box. They are my favorite addition so far.

They are bluish when off, but when the headlights are on there is absolutely no blue cast. The covers seem to filter out the yellows, so the beam is whiter.

I asked a local cop, who is a stickler for tint, headlights and stuff (I'm lucky he's my friend), what he thought of mine. He said he wouldn't look twice at them.

Mine are from www.headlightarmor.com Great service and well worth the price.

I would have to go with YAY on this one. Go for it. I think I'm going to buy me a set.

I would say NAY!!! I had them on my box and the light was so diminished I could barely see the road. After about a year they got hundreds of little air bubbles. I ordered mine from headlightarmor.com

Weird. I drive in a very rural area full of deer several nights a week. Had I noticed any loss of light I would have pulled mine off immediately, but the light quality has been great.

If you compare one light with the armor on to another with the armor off, you will notice a difference.

I would say go for it ;)

Our HID Blue headlight protection kit is designed to make the lights look whiter.

Full night film testing photos HERE

The HID Blue is the most popular headlight kit we sell. Most of the people here have blue and have never had any issues. Earlier this summer the smoke was reformulated. It still cuts done on the light, but not as much as before.

Good Luck!

To each their own. Any type of tinting is going to remove some light output, its only logical. If it removes the yellow light or whatever your light output is going to be diminished, no matter what. In my case I tryed OEM, OEM w/Rockblocker HID Blue, and Sonars - Out of them all I have had the brightest light with OEM.

Default Blues clues

From H.A.'s test photos, the HID blue does look brighter, not much, but yes brighter.

They do mention a good point: your eyesight! Every1's is different, & in my case the Blue seems to be (a tad) brighter. My Blue HID-like bulbs are DEF. better than stock/OEM, but maybe SmokingT prefers the original/yellowish halogen look or appears to be the best thru SmokingT's eyes...Thanks for ya'lls help, I will "look" into it!

And would you know who/where to recommend installing these?

From our night testing page here http://headlightarmor.com/index.asp?...n=Custom&ID=21

Stock lighting

HID Blue kit installed

The kits are designed as a consumer DIY
xB Headlight DIY here http://headlightarmor.com/index.asp?...n=Custom&ID=12

Seeing that they are mainly flat they shouldn't be much trouble at all. You might ask around your local community as somebody who has installed them before might be willing to lend a hand if you need a hand.

I would say do it. I have them on my SSM tC and they look very nice! Subtle blue, not overly done. The H.A. Covers are a quality product. It's thick and not thin like some of the others. I've had mine for awhile now and haven't noticed any difference in light output. (Until I switched to SilverStar bulbs.) Being that the blue is so subtle, I highly doubt you would be harrassed by the police. Good luck!

I had a set from bluebatmobile a while back on my stock lenses, sexiest thing I have ever seen. Mine were a much brighter and deeper colored blue, and took away more light output, but looked extremely nice.

I remember one night I pulled up next to TWO cop cars at a stop light, I watched as they both looked over at my lights, then over at me, and then just drove off.

I wish I still had pictures...
