driving at night..getting brights flashed at me...
Any one else have this problem? When driving at night, quite a few oncoming cars will flash their brights at me (my headlights are on dim.) Is that the nature of the xB headlight placement or do I need to have them aligned? (they seem to to aimed properly to me....)

OMG!!! This has been happening to us since we bought the first box last Sept. It happens to us both now. It just happened on our way home from our meeting.
{Maybe its part of that cult thing...}
I started to think that other drivers must think I have my high beams on.

I usually flash them back then they realize I had low beams on all along.

Anyways, when I first got the xB, my girlfriend thought I was flashing my high beams at her whenever I followed her car at night. I think it just due to the bouncy ride of the xB. Plus, I think the beam is slightly higher up than most small cars and then there is a sharp cutoff point.

Well, I'll say this: the xB's are the brightest headlights I've ever had on a car, at least in terms of how much of the outside world they light up. And they do seems to be aimed higher than normal. I haven't noticed being flashed at yet, but I haven't done that much night driving.

Happened to me when I was driving my xB home.
My dad yelled at me telling me I was dumb for having my
brights on, so I hit him with the brights and said "yeah?"
I think it's the bounce the xB has, the lights bob up and down
a lot. We could probably tilt the lights down a bit further by
putting some washers under the top headlight mounting screw?

I get this too, when driving my wifes lunchbox. I just flash them back and they get the hint. In my truck its worse, as when I driving at night I usualy have my fog lights on. And all my lights are xenon, so people flash me then I flash them but my highbeams are jdm xenon yellow bulbs. So they get blinded for sure.
Now adays all the new cars have HID lights and damn dude thouse things are bright as all hell. So they shouldnt be flashing people. I only flash people when they are in front of me in the fast lane of the freeway. MOVE B I T C H get out the way.

Same thing when I bought mine. I had the dealer readjust the lights and no problem since. Can't see as well as far down the road with dims but still ok.
Interestingly there is only one adjuster on the rear of each housing. Turn one way to go lower and the opposite to raise. Pretty easy fix.

I was sitting in a left turn lane last night and some dick in a 3-series had his foglights on ... and they were pointed UP.
My headlights were lighting basically everything to the waistline of his car, but when I flipped the brights on, suddenly the inside of his car was well-illuminated
He flashed his brights at me, then flipped me off as he turned. IT'S NOT ____ING FOGGY, TURN YOUR ____ING FOG LIGHTS OFF.

I have had this problem, but when following a car, my headlights seem to stay level, meaning they are not aimed up, meaning they shouldn't be shining in anyone's face. I replaced my heads and fogs with silverstars, and usually keep the fogs on at night. People do see me coming.

Always a good idea to try to impair the other driver's vision as they are shooting in your direction. That'll teach em...
