Default DropFiberglass xB body kit.

<blockquote>
Hey guys. Obviously I'm new to this site, and I came over to let you know about a new kit on the market for xB owners.

Lil background... I run my own VW New Beetle shop and have alot of upcoming items that I've designed, including 2 body kits. How did that lead me here? Well, the shop I'm working with for all of my CF and fiberglass needs, is family owned. One of that family designed a body kit for the xB. Being that they are fabricators, and not sales people or internet savvy at all, I am stepping in to get the word out for them on this.

DropFiberglass (their bodykit shop name) has been making kits for the Honda scene for a few years now with great response locally in the SoCal area (they never really pushed them). Now they've adapted a design to fit the xB and personally I think it's pretty nice looking.

I'm scanning and posting photos of the first kit made, installed on an xB, but not painted yet. The kit includes a front bumper, rear bumper, and 2 side skirts (not pictured very well in these). I hope to have another kit made soon to install and paint on another xB (local buyers please let me know if you'd like to buy one and have your xB photographed!) to really show everything off even better.

The kit is sturdy fiberglass, with plenty of thickness to withstand daily commutes. For additional fees (please email me to discuss) we can arrange to have CF put into some portions for accenting.

With enough response, a second Scion xB kit design (or 1 for the xA) could be created in short order. Let us know any ideas you might have.

I'm linking to the photos via HTML:

my opinion on this kit:
it is horrible. it follows no lines of the xb and ruins the flow of the natural look. the sharp edges, just don't do it for me. also, i don't know if it is the pictures or not, but some parts don't look even.

Well I appreciate the feedback. Honestly I've got to admit I take your points of view. I'm not a huge fan of the aggressive "rice" look kits either... but this is what the son of the owner, the designer of the kit, is into.

I'll pass on the comments and see what happens, but this kit is done and finalized and being produced. We'll possibly look into another less agressive one in the future. I'm not a Scion owner, or a huge fan (not that I dislike, just haven't really got into em like you guys), but if you guys want something done and maybe I can get something put out... I'm up for that.

Like I said, I'm New Beetle guy, so the sharp lines are ... a lil new to me. I'm just representing someone elses kit for sale to help out his shop, and inturn, push my NB products forward.

I appreciate the constructive honesty though. You guys are a good bunch here on this site (I've been peeking at alot of threads). And this is an awesome forum site (layout and moderation, etc)... very cool.

PS. the "uneven parts" i think were the photos. In the real photos they look straight and the kit on the car was GREAT.. but, I can't get it to scan without weirdness in the long straight lines for some reason... good eye though. I'll take new picks when we have one painted on a silver xB (silver shows lines on a car best).

Opposite side right baby. I like the rear and side skirts but the rear can't hold a nice exhaust unless you aim it down but everyone has a 2" drop so that wouldn't work at all. They do look nice non the less.

The front on the other hand is pretty nasty looking. Thaz all i'm gunna say. Redo the front and you'll have a winner

another design flaw i see is that you can only use a stock tip with this kit. people will add a custom exhaust or even the magnaflow exhaust, but it doesn't look it will fit between the openings.

ElecMoHwk: I think you should refer to this pic:

and ask your buddy if he could honestly tell you what other shapes the v-shaped middle opening correlates with on the car. Like what is it supposed to blend into? And the two little slits on the very ends... why are they there really? I mean REALLY? Tons of vents and holes and lines don't always work...

That kit hurts my eyes ... No box should ever have that done to it ... it just doesn't match any part of the box
