Emblem Madness, Toyota bloodline from years past and future!
Ive been eyeing up some emblems lately, in particular all the different emblems from old to new that Toyota has made through the years. I'm not talking about cheesy aftermarket ones on ebay, but cool rare ones that have some historical significance. If you had to replace your xB/bB with a worthy emblem from Toyota or Toyota related please post it and why. Any emblems primary or secondary from the Toyota would be cool, if Im lucky I'll get educated by one of you gurus of all the Toyota emblems ever made, ugly or not. We shall see eh?

Soarer - Or as we call it here in the states, a Lexus SC300
Celica - it's a dragon, not a swan. Comes from a japanese fairy tail of sorts involving a witch named Celica who controls a dragon. Translation of the story is shady at best though, so the details are fuzzy.
MR2 - I had always thought the "MR" stood for "Mid engine Rear wheel drive", but apparently it's "Midship Runabout", what ever the hell that is.

There are many emblems still available from the old '70s USDM/Import Toyotas and many are pretty sweet. I did some research on this about a year ago for Miguel in Omaha, but he wound up buying a Nissan or something.
I'll see if I can dig up any of that old stuff at home tonight.

I did some Google image and came up with these really quickly:
Off an old Corolla:
Off the new "Crown Concept"
You can sort of see the emblems on some old Toyotas here:
http://www.toyotaoldies.de/ITT2004/ITT2004.html
You can see the Corona emblem on this one:
There's more, I'll find 'em.

Hey! I found those printouts of the emblems I looked up back in August '04.
The Corolla one I posted above was from about 1975. Those cars also had a sweet looking "Deluxe" emblem as well.
Also of interest was the grille emblem from the 1975 Toyota Pickup which is a variation of the "T-spike" emblem above.
The 1985 MR2 had some good bird emblems on both front and back and the 1980 Celica had a cool shield on the hood that was pretty subtle.
I don't have pics of these and it would take some time to image capture the parts outlines (these are not in color BTW) and then host them.
All the ones I mentioned were still available from Toyota on a VERY limited basis when I looked them up. I'm not sure if I could get them now. If anybody is seriously interested, I'll do the images, but it will be some work and will tie up one of my Parts department computers for a while so please keep that in mind.
