Default Fantasy Creations, Inc. Grill Install

In this tutorial, I will be installing the Fantasy Creations, Inc.'s "Fatty S" brushed stainless steel grill onto 2tone_xB's xB. The "Fatty S" brushed stainless steel grill is one of many grills available at Fantasy Creations, Inc. I would like to thank Dan Gross at Fantasy Creations for providing the grill for this install. I would also like to thank Zach (2tone_xB) for letting me use his car for this tutorial.

Out of the box, you will find an instruction manual, an FC pamphlet, and the grill. The grill is packed into the box nicely with a generous amount of bubble wrap.

Fantasy Creations "Fatty S" grill includes an anodized aluminum mesh grill (black) behind the stainless steel grill.

The installation of the Fantasy Creations grill is very easy. It should take less than 10 minutes to uninstall the current grill and install the FC grill. It took me about 4 minutes from start to finish. However, I do not suggest you rush the installation.

Tools needed:
- Small flathead screwdriver

Optional:
- Fender mat (or any non-abrasive mat)

1. First, you want to pop the hood open and prop it up using the hood rod.

***If you have a fender mat, put it over the work area (front bumper).***

2. Locate the 3 plastic (black) fasteners that hold the stock grill in place.

3. Using the small flathead screwdriver, pop out the fasteners by prying the top portion away from the bottom.

***I suggest you take the left and right fasteners out first, then hold the stock grill as you pop out the middle fastener. The grill may just fall off, otherwise.***

Once the stock grill is uninstalled, place it somewhere safe.

4. Take the Fantasy Creations grill and carefully insert the left "L" shaped tab into the existing slot.

5. While carefully flexing the grill along the contour of the top of the bumper, insert the second tab into the designated slot.

6. Once both tabs are inserted into their designated slots, line up the upper tabs and insert two of the fasteners. Make sure the fasteners and upper tabs are resting flush on the mounting holes before securing the fastener.

The third fastener is not used and should be stored in a safe place, along with the stock grill.

Once the two fasteners are locked, you are done! Double-check everything before closing the hood and going for a drive.

Its the same on an xA, incase anyone is wondering. Just pop off those plastic fasteners and the grill comes off. I took mine off when I was trying to figure out how to take out the drivers side head light.

I would recommend fabbing a dust/water shield to install behind it. The guys over at Grillcraft determined that this was necessary for proper airflow to the radiator. Also, the engine bay is gonna get dirty and wet. Not so great for intake filters etc.

Yes, thank you to Miko and Fantasy Creations.
Pretty nice grill for it's price, but the best part about it is the installation.
Honestly, Miko did a well done job installing it in no longer than 5mins.

Check out Fantasy Creation's website for this grill and other's.

Thanks again.

My "Flex" grille arrived today from Fantasy Creations and all I can say is "WOW"!! In my opinion, it is simply fabulous, in design, workmanship and materials. AND, may I add that the service this company offers is beyond belief. When my grille wasn't immediately available, due to high demand, I received a personal phone call from Dan Gross, who explained the circumstances, as well as the company background, the design and workmanship behind their product and wanted to know if I could wait the two weeks for my grille to be shipped. Wait 2 weeks? Little did he know I would have waited months, to get one of these grilles! Particularly after I realized that shipping was FREE and the service was so wonderful. It's hard to get good service these days and it means a lot to me.

True to Dan's word, he emailed me exactly two weeks later to let me know my grille had been shipped and when it arrived, it was FANTASTIC! As well made as he had promised, and what an amazing design! Personalized service, free shipping, a terrific, solid product and all for well under 300.00. I can't wait to see what else these guys come up with and recommend checking out their site. If you're in the market for a cool grille go to: www.fantasycreations.net. I know I'll be back for more when they come out with new, lower grilles and interior products and who know what else! In a world of Scion products where the same old stuff keeps popping up, these guys are refreshingly new and innovative. They do custom work as well and also for very reasonable prices. So check 'em out if you're looking for that something special for your ride!!

if you don't have an aftermarket air filter, is it as necessary to fab one of the dust/water sheilds?

if it is still a good idea, what is a good material to make it out of? A black piece of plastic or something?

Anyone see the spider one on e-bay?

It went for a very reasonable price. Brisk bidding, too.

I noticed they put a few more grilles up on e-bay.

The fit is real nice.
