Fog lights for lower grill Search
#301
Let's just say that I'm glad I was able to borrow lots of differently sized sockets, wrenches and screwdrivers from a friend.
And keep in mind, they're just fog lights. They make your car more noticeable for sure but if you need brightness for normal driving, HID headlights are probably the way to go.

Reviving the thread but for the sake of not starting a new one can someone post or pm me directions for where to route the wires to the inside from the fogs to my switch on the dash...

You can go with the Blazer or other fogs IF you want to fill the opening which is
about 3x6. Just Measure the opening and find the fogs that suit your taste or price range.

Mr. Luv your car is roughed up...
Darkside, no wal*mart around you has them?
All you have to do is google "Blazer fog lights" I'd link you to some stores but there are infinite many and it isn't hard to do...
P.S. The Gardner Bender switches can be found here for 1.25 a pop!
http://cripedistributing.com/gardner...45-p-2380.html
you can purchase all three together for less than $8 shipped, I got mine in two days....

Hello mrfuzzy4 , Happy 18th Birthday!
Go to page 13 about 1/2 way down are pics by Puz06xB:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...asc&&start=240
After you remove the front black lower grille covers, you take a sharp knife
or utility blade and cut out that black plastic backing behind there. That allows you
to set the fogs more deeply inside. You measure and mark the hole you need
to drill under the bottom lip to attach the bolt for your fog brackets. Then run
and extend / add if necessary the black ground wire along the base of the lower
lip until you find any metal bolt/screw to a frame. You loosen it to attach the ground.
Hope that helps,
MR LUV

Hi Shan14,
Thanks for helping with the great pic
That was the area I was taking about.
Wow, you must have jacked up the Box or had it on ramps
to get that shot. If you don't mind me asking what kind of
Program are you using to Insert the different color text and lines?
Photoshop?

Hey MR LUV,
Yup, I used Photoshop cause MS Paint puts a boxy white background behind inserted text. There are probably free programs like Gimp that can accomplish the same, but I'm too lazy to look . -btw I inserted text with Photoshop, then went back to paint to draw those lines/arrows because I haven't figured it out on Photoshop yet. Too complicated.
Man, I wish I had ramps. Car is not dropped but I can get my football shaped head underneath if I slide in sideways with ear touching ground. When I turn to face upwards my chin touches the lower lip of the car.
For the shot I just put the camera underneath and took wild shots without 'aiming', heh.

so i wanna install these lights to use as drl's. im assuming i could use an "add a circuit" and tap into a fuse that has power in the on position, so these lights will turn on/off with the car as long as the switch is set to on. but.....since i want to use these solely as drl's i want them to turn off when my parking lights/headlights go on. does anybody know how the wiring for that would work?
#319
i actually know how to make them DRLs. i just done know how to make them cutout when the parking lights go on. i want the switch to be on at all times, the drls will make them go on/off with the car, and on/off with the normal headlights. i'm hoping someone could make a diagram or writeup for this.

I was at Kragen Auto Parts today and saw what looked like a chrome-housing version of the Blazer fogs. Not sure if this has been mentioned already on the forum. First time I saw them myself. A slight step up from the cheap black plastic housing, maybe?
