for the hardcore JDM kats

(Monoblock just means the whole wheel is made from one piece. It's not the name of those AMG wheels.)
Anyways, some people value things more than others - it's just preference. Some people value ICE more than wheels, some people value preformance mods more than ICE, and so on. I like wheels and suspension most, I haven't spent a dime on ICE.
For me, I'm not just into the look, I am also into the details: quality, fit, and finish. It just so happens, most of the high-end JDM wheels have the quality, fit, and finish that I haven't found anywhere else - and I've looked.
At first, I was all about knockoffs. It wasn't until I saw Opr8r's Euroline Ns up close and in person that I changed my mind (plus the fact no one even had the widths/offsets I was looking for). A lot folks who get the Louis VItton knockofss either have never seen the real thing up close or they don't care about the quality and are just into the superficial look.
When I had my Works, 99% of the people who saw my car on a daily basis probably haven't even heard of Work wheels anyways. But I was just happy knowing what I know.

The point is, it doesn't matter who copied what, quality is quality. It might not be Louis Vitton, but it's still Prada

No. You don't buy monoblocks because they're light, you buy them because you like the way they look. If I can get something that looks exactly the same for 1/5 the price, please believe I'm saving that 2 thousand dollars and buying some leather and coilovers.

When the discussion turns to original JDM vs. Knockoffs, or Bling vs. Subtle, or Show vs. Go, I think about what my art teacher told me years ago, "Every work of art is a self-portrait of the artist." In other words, you mod your car the way you want, and it's a reflection of who you are. Don't put down somebody for doing what they want, just thank them for showing you what they're like.
