Default HOME MADE MUD FLAPS

I am going to give this a try. I tried to cut down a pair of universal mud flaps but the still seemed too heavy......these seem light and flexable....

I just want the for the back.

Good find, I may try that on the front. I think the rear wheels sit in enough to not make much mess. The wheel wells in the back do look "unfinished" and I wonder if this would cut some rain road noise.

Nice job with the flaps. Perhaps some in my DIY future. I do prefer the term "personally engineered", rather than home made. Nice job and write-up.

Not the best pictures but you get the idea.

Those are great mudflaps. How many screws hold them in?

For the homemade ones I am not sure what type of templete to design.

Traditional?

Also. how much anchoring and where to anchor?

If your lowered the only problem you'll have is going over speed bumps. I also had problems pulling out of my driveway.

Attaching to the rear I only used two srcews (wheel well) I didn't want to attach to the rear lip cause I was afraid I might lose my rear lip going over those speed bumps. The hardest part of installing mine were I had to remove the rear wheels to install the rear flaps.

Would you by chance have a picture of the inside of the wheelwell?
To see how it looks and screw placement, cut of flap, etc.
Thanks....I understand if you don't.

Sorry, I no longer own the xB so can't provide any new photos.

This was my Original post I had sometime ago. Pictures are gone but some information might be there?

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ight=mud+flaps

I got the mud flaps from Japan. They were Original bB mud flaps from Toyota. But, for some reason they were made for a bB with no side skirts so I cut them to fit. I screw them into the OEM wheel well fittings and used the OEM side skirt moulding to give them a finished look. They came pianted white so no painting had to be done. They were made of a soft rubber so I had no problems with breakage going over the speed bumps. At the time I was running on Goldline springs and for some reason my springs sat lower then most Goldlines (over 2 1/2" drop)

Some other photo's I found.

Wish I could help. It's been so long and I bought them from a dealer on YJA's.

Might do a search on this site. If I recall, there once was a thread on OEM part numbers. I may have placed the part # in the thread.

well heres my mud flaps i spent 20.00 and made them myself .their a hard plastic and the only bad thing about them is while cruisin down rocky roads you can hear the rocks hitting the mud flaps i think i might redo them and use rubber so its quiet.

i forgot most of all i have blue neons under neath and the flaps really help protect them which is cool.
