Wouldn't you think that if this made that big of a difference that Scion would of come up with a way to prop the hood up for better ventilation when the temperature rises to a certain point or maybe even designed the engine bay differently? I think it looks ridiculous, but that’s my opinion. But kudos to those who like it.

for the price and type our cars is i don't think they would put much thought and research into it. and i wouldn't think having the hood prop up like that would pass certain regulation that the vehical need to pass in order to come to the market. just my two cents. but yea not to be too self centered, i was the first to have hood risers on this island, no one thought it looked ugly yet. i actually got couple of compliment from people just on the road. i would give examples but i don't want to thread jack. lolz

Did it in the 80's so the 48 IDA's would fit with air cleaners on a type 1 VW.It would have ZERO effect on engine cooling or any other reason you could name on an xB,but, its a cool look.

It makes the hood hinges look bent or that the hood bolts are missing or loose.

I've got my engine decklid raised too, although I think it's a little more functional with a high performance air cooled engine. To each his own I suppose.
