Default I went deer hunting tonight (pics added)

I don't have pics yet but i hit i deer tonight with the xB.
Going down a country road at 55 MPH and a doe came up the bank on my left hand side so i hit the brakes as hard as i could and then thump hit her dead center right between both headlights.
I just got off the phone with the auto body place and he said $5050 in damage, hope the insurance co. will get out there tomorrow and say the same.
The list of the parts are bumper cover, grill, hood, right hood hinge,2 fenders, radiator, air condencer,2 headlights, and some smaller items.
I hit the deer high enough that the air bags did not go off, and the cop and a witness estimated it to weigh around 200 lbs.
I will try to get pics tomorrow and post some up.

Same thing happened to me about a month ago but mine was only about $1000 because i just cliped it with the front left side of the bumper. All i needed was to get the hood fixed and painted. Glad you're alright. Did you keep the deer? jk

Gave the deer away, there was some hillbilly type guy who stopped and he could not drag it to the road by himself so he called his brother to help.
I wish i had some extra money to get some custom paint done to it but i am so broke i have to pay for a rental out of my own pocket, (cheep plug goes here) i have a supernintendo and complete ps2for sale in the classifieds miss and lots.
The prices he said were weird. bumper was $160 grill was over $100 i think he said the headlights were $167 for each. he asked me if i wanted to do any carbon fiber but i said no to that.

The good news is that the rental co said they would give me anaccent to drive and when they dropped it off i got a corrolla with only 5000 miles.

What, no comment on the actual use of the tow bolt? First time I've actually seen anybody use that. Sweet!

Yep, get 'er fixed up and going again. That kind of stuff should be pretty simple to get just right again. Make sure the body shop you are using offers a garuntee on their work too (most do) just in case there's something that gets missed.

Glad you made it out okay yourself!

I didn't really use the tow bolt. I put it on there before the flatbed got there just incase. I was able drive it up on the flatbed.

Did you wash it after you hit the deer? There is no hair or blood that I am accustomed to seeing after someone hits a deer. Not looking for gruesome pics, just weird is all.

there was very little hair, only a small buch about 2 inches long in the bumper, and no blood at all.
But the hindend of the deer was all messed up, she only could run about 30 yards and then the cop got to use his shotgun.

That stinks. I'm glad no one was hurt other than the deer. Use a gun next time, it's cheaper.

I have a friend who less than 2 weeks after getting his brand new 03 WRX, hit a deer, and screwed the front of it up bad. Then he got a SRT-4, and the first time one of his friends drove it, got clipped by a drunk driver. Sucks. Good to know everyone is ok.

Yeah, those Deer are on the move in Chicago too. when did you paint the interior to match the Lotus? there are deer dead on the Highway in heavy traffic areas as well as Coyotes. places you prolly wouldn't expect to see any.

The tow bolt is located under the spare tire.
I hope the grill and headlights come in on monday so they can start to work on it.
