Default JDM Parking Antenna Thing?

Anyone know where to get those parking antenna/pole/things they use in Japan a lot? They go right on the corner of your bumper.

here's a pic of what I'm talking about on an EK:
http://www.jtuned.com/media/gallery%...EK%2F020%2Ejpg

I parallel park all the time, and I think this would be a handy (and cool looking) piece to have. I think I've seen a few add on static pieces, but I'm more interested in a motorized one with an LED at the end (like in the pic)....

I'd appreciate any info...

yea i had looked for a while. i found them on ebay a couple times but they went in excess of $150. kinda rare to see them though. the static stick ons are like $20 a piece. or, if you get real brave, you could buy a power antenna assembly and DIY and do a nice write up

It's just a little flag pole to tell you where the front corners
of your vehicle are for those who can't drive very well.

Semi's use them because of the long noses so they don't
clip things.
If you aren't a JDM fanatic, you can get these from truck
accessory stores. If you are a JDM fanatic, then prepare to
pay out the **** because it's made in Japan.

OMG! Those are horrible! - Why not just use a curb-feeler? It's less intrusive, does the job and doesn't make your ride look all junked up...

sorry em.de.em , you have no JDM taste I can tell from your response. theyre just something that goes with a certain look. not a lot of rides can pull them off and look good. Fujiz does IMO. its all personal opinion and you have to have an eye for it.

Very informative em.de.em, thanks

Hey stan I just checked some JDM Honda forums. A couple of those have them. They seem to be in very high demand there too though.
I really don't think they've taken off in the Scion community which is good and bad.
May mean lower prices, but harder to find. I'll keep looking around and I'll PM ya if I find anything.

Here's a picture of mine too! I too have to parallel park at work and it works great. I only wish everyone had one at work as my rear bumper has been hit twice now.

I chose to go with the 3M type as I didn't want to drill a hole in my bumper. Rather then hard wiring it. the item is placed somewhat in front of your headlight to make the tip glow at night.

Some people would say the same thing about curb feelers. They also worked better with real metal to attach them to. An xB in my town is running them and they are probably more noticable than this. These also help drivers to see where their corner is when making other moves besides parallel parking. They are also fun because it makes civilians go "WTH is that thing?"

BTW, a little tactfulness can get your point across a lot better...

What I did when I first got my car was had my friend stand with his leg touching the corner of the bumper while I was inside. Had him move to each corner so I could get a mental picture of how far things stuck out. Works great.

I'm liking the power antenna/LED idea.

I got mine from Super Autobacs during my vacation in SoCal (Stanton, CA) for $9.99 a piece. First time seeing them in person. Yeah, I should have painted it to match but I'm into PJM-JDM.

Basically there's stick on and then there's power motorized. I don't know about any of you, but I have a hard enough time finding motorized, let alone a specific brand.

I looked up parts cost on a brand new power antenna and it runs like $40. Does someone wanna make DIY mod here?

I'm too scared I electrocute myself

Scott

Btw, Keitaro, good looking Box. i would only do one IMO since two kinda looks truckerish, but good looking xB and cool find on the mirrors.

It's held on with 3M tape. Mine was falling off at one time or someone tried to take it but I noticed in time before it might have fallen off.
There were cheaper ones but I chose to go with a chrome one to match my overall chrome on my ride.

In the rear window I have a fisheye mirror which makes me see my rear bumper so I have no problems backing in to parallel park.

Here's some random pics off the net that I found to show how cool it looks with a motorized one...apparently some Toyota Soarers and Honda Ferio (Civic ex sedan) used to have this as an option...

I actually found something that would work, but the website is just a Chinese distribution site with no direct sale
