Default LED under car lighting

Ok, I'll admit it....I dont know the laws on undercar lights/LEDs/neon.... In California what is//isnt legal to have use???

Also, what kits...Im specifically looking at LEDs, are good for the box? I dont car if its wired or wireless, heck i dont even care if it came from Pep boys.\

Can anyone recommend something that looks good, isnt a pain to install, and isnt gonna run me $200 plus bucks.

Help me.....

I don't know about the laws in California, but as for recommending a site all I can say is: www.oznium.com

They have super customer service and their products are top-notch. I own the Flowlighting Inferno LED underbody kit and a multitude of cold cathodes that I bought from them. Here's a link to the underbody kits:

i'm gonna give a +1 to Oznium, he sells good kits that are well priced.

for the sake of being in Cali... i wouldn't dare risk driving with them on... only in private parking lots and shows would I ever turn them on.

I live in Kansas and the law here is that you can run LEDs as long as you can't see the bulbs and as long as they aren't red. I found this info on the web. Just look up your town and start digging thru all of the motor vehicle regulations. Good luck!!!

Onzium makes the best LED kits I have ever seen/used. Pretty easy to install to, especially with their online guide. The CA laws state that under car lights cannot be used while driving, so that means only parked, off road.

+1 for oznium

as far as when to use them, i wouldn't reccomend driving withthem on, especially in cali. even if you're within your rights, it's almost like asking to be pulled over, just so they can find something. looking at your profile, the first thing they would write would be the fact that your headlights don't have an amber reflector (i'm not preaching, i have the same lights)

i believe underbody lights are legal in Cali as long as they are not blue or red (emergency vehicles) and the tubes are not visible

In the Republic of California it is illegal to have underbody lights on , except for off road and show, no matter what color you got.

For those of you who are not police or emergency vehicles red and blue lights in your grill, if they are attached are also illegal ( impersonating an officer is a felony as I recall). You don't even have to turn them on, just have them.

This has been asked and answered many, many times. Just look online for your state, county, and city vehical codes. Here, everything is illegal.

They are aimed towards the engine block, they light up the engine area....(not a bit of blue flashy can be seen from the outside)

I love California...with everything being illegal..its kinda like "Escape from L.A."...But i dont think that I'd make a convincing Snake Pliskin...

One can always pray....

Has anyone tried out the oznium led flex strips for under car lighting yet? They now make them in various lengths up to 6 feet.

under car lights here in california as ONLY legal when the car is parked and not in motion. If they are on while driving at any time, you most likely will be ticketed.

I made my box glow with some Varad LEDs. They may be a little over $200 but they are sure worth every penny! I also have a wirless remote and the install isn't a pain. I highly reccomend Varad or Oznium also if you are looking for LED kits.
