Default Need help with OPTX LED undercar kit

The OPTX kit directions state to connect one wire to ignition. Is it necessary to connect to ignition? Could i just hook up to battery? Please advise

i would think that they actually mean a switched electrical source... like your ignition or a switch that you can use to turn on and off via relay.

If you want it to work independently of the key. Just wire it straight to 12 volts. I did mine like that cause I like to be able to just turn them on without the key. Good luck on the install and what color did you get, may I ask?

UMMM didn't you read his question??? He DOESN'T want it controled by the ignition. Hence straight 12 volts.
