So after some tips from people I went to Autozone and found an exhaust tip that looks great. It's a 3A Racing chrome tip that accepts a factory pipe up to 3", cost $28. It attaches via three metal clamps that you screw in to tighten. The bolts that came with it were crap and easily stripped so I went to Home Depot and got some replacements that worked great. They held tighter and it only took 5 minutes to get it on. Well maybe 10 once I was done monkeying with where I wanted it. Since the rear bumper is rounded it's impossible to get it flush, but it looks about right. I didn't want much of the tip sticking out from the bumper, as I always thought that looks pretty rice, like you put some oversized tip on so I made it so just the right side comes out a bit, as the left side is more flush due to the curve of the bumper. Anyways, here's some pics...

I came in to this thread with low expectations on how an exhaust tip would look, but that looks great. Awesome choice on the tip itself, and it looks great on there. The box should have came this way!!

Thanks, ya I am not one for big, gawdy, exaggerated tips that make the car look rice/silly. I simply wanted something that filled the hole. I think it looks pretty funny to have a 4 or 5" hole cut out of the bumper, yet the tiny little stock tip is like 2" and so far back in you barely see it. It just looked to me like someone stole the tip and there was nothing there.

So I've been looking around for something that fills the spot nicely without looking too big or stupid. After seeing another thread I came upon this one and really like how it turned out. I also really like the oval shape because it fits the cutout and looks like it came from the factory.

I've never seen the one you can get from the Scion dealers, but it costs twice as much anyways.

and I had the same issue with the bolts stripping. just got new ones and it worked great.

Glad it wasn't just me...for a minute I was wondering what the heck I did that stripped them...

I think they were just really cheap/soft and whenever I would tighten them, then lossen them to readjust, they got stripped. The ones I got from Home Depot were much stronger and let me adjust with ease.

Looks sweet! Do you have the part number for it? I've checked the stores around me and I can't find an oval one.

Not sure what part # it is, but I took a pic of the label. They all look the same for this brand, but note the "Fit's up to 3"" part...

I didn't find it at Advanced Auto, they only had one that fit up to 2.25" I had to go to AutoZone for it, and they only had one left.

That actually looks almost identical to the one you get from the dealer (that's the one I got). I like it too because it looks good without being rediculously big.

Question for those that did theirs...were you able to get it centered perfectly so it's even inside the gap? I couldn't get it perfect, and it's slightly pulling to the left side of the bumper. So if you are **** and look at it, you can see that the space between it and the opening isn't uniform.

Anyone else have any tips/tricks on how to get it perfectly centered? No matter what I did, I couldn't. I guess since it's using 3 clamps and the stock pipe is oval and not round, it's harder to get it even...

It may just be the angle of the photo, but looking at your before picture, it looks like the stock pipe sways a little to the left as well. Could that potentially be the problem??

Ya it did to begin with I suppose...not sure I can do much about that....wouldn't even know where to begin with that...oh well.

It's not a big deal...just something I'm overly **** about...

Ya it looks about the same. It kinda looks like it slightly pulls to the left side like mine does, so I'm guessing thats just how the factory pipe sites so whatever.

I dunno, man. They both look fine to me. Are you sure you don't have some kind of bizarre cognitive dysfunction? Maybe your visual cortex pulls to the left.
