I think what I don't like about these lights besides the fact that they are $1000 is that they are so exposed, they don't have anything protecting them from rocks or even bug splaters. Can you imagine how difficult it is to clean those instead of a set of headlights that has a flush flat encasing?

Heres my pics. I have the HID kit sold here on scionlife by XENITH. I got 6000k hids in the dual halo dual projector housing made by helix. Its not the "correct" projector housing. But my cutoff is awsome and I dont blind the fvck outa people.
Allot cheaper then retro'ing but not the same high quality. I've had them in now since about may or june.
To give you an idea, on the left is 6000k and on the right is 8000k.

Buebie, thanks for taking the time to provide those pics. I am also looking into buying the HID kit from XENITH and was looking at the 8000k lights. But now after seeing the 6000k and the 8000k side by side I'm considering the 6000k. How are the lights compared to stock? Noticeably much brighter, right? I'll be using some dual projectors that I bought off of e-bay

If your gonna go HID, at least get a projector housing to try and do your best to ease other drivers' pain.

I notice it mainly when these cars are driving next to me, or I am behind them and I see where their beam goes.
It's still a HUGE upgrade from halogen.
