I love the panel idea, the suicide doors, and the rear rolled pan, but the paint seems too busy for my tastes. I can't wait to see it slammed, cambered out, and some really nice 18s on it. Of course that's just me.

Not my thing, but it looks great! Nice job. Keep up the good work. You have pulled off that rare project where people can look at and say that they don't like what you did, but really like the work you put in and can see the quality of the work.

killer idea, i have been thinking about doing that for a long time, just not the doors, lights, and all the other stuff.
The paint looks good just not my style.

I think when I do it I will not smooth the pannels all smooth, I will
leave it with a small lip all around the filled in area.

What about the inside?

The paint job is awesome. Stands out even when compared to some of the outrageous paint jobs I've seen on the East coast. I like it. However, by eliminating the rear side windows, I think yo've taken away much from what makes to xB so unique looking. It begins to look more like a downsized panel truck from the 1960s.

That’s a good observation. And that’s why I didn’t chop it. I thought the panel and the chop together would make It look un xb. But I think, the way it is now is fine. Once it’s all back together and seen as a whole, people will see it’s all xb. I left the front end alone and painted it a single color to keep the xb shape. If anything I think the back looks like a vw bus. Also, all the panels trucks from the 60’s were kind of round. There is no round to this at all, anywhere. That’s one of the reasons I ditched the mirrors, to give it a even more slab look.
good call, thanks.

I think what you did is great idea. A true mini truckin look!

The colors and designs are a great match!

Post up some finish pics and some of the suicide doors.

Awesome looking box!

I for one would like to say I like the idea... would of kept the side mirrors...
Did you research to see if its drivable on public roads?
I know some of us get stopped for things like exhaust and other mods we do... but what about the side mirrors?
oO(would any of our officers of the law like to take a stab at this?)

I was worried about being stopped for not having a reverse light. So, now there’s a 6” clear revere strip at the top of the rear hatch.
In Ca you have to have a reverse light of some sort.
I also have a small set of mirrors which will go on when the paints done.
I am thinking of putting a rear view camera in for my own benefit.
Does anyone know where to buy these or what kind to get?

Thanks,
Jay
