for anyone wondering, this is because the TYC tails have the standard regular filament light bulbs. Not LED.

Just tried it. Put the light bar back in. Started the car. Checked to see if anything was dim. None and no warning dash lights. Pressed brakes and all worked correctly. Turned the cruise on and nothing came on dim and no warning lights.

Should of been more clear. I took it for a little drive to see if it would work and hte cruise never came on. I'll put a resistor on the tails to see if that does it this weekend.

that's just how i did it, everything works fine. i have one of those radio shack resistors spliced in parallel across each brake light circuit of both harnesses. no extra load resistance in the 3rd brake light though. everything works perfect.

I havent had a chance to get it done yet. I do have the resistors though. Is there any problem with them heating up anything and melting stuff? the tails or anything else back there.

they do heat up, but they will be wired through your brake lighting circuit so they will not be on all the time. i cant say for sure that you will not have a problem with heat, but i have not had any problems with them.
