you really dont have to worry about cracking paint because xB's
have a rubber lining lip on the fender, the paint will crack on that
but not on the actual fender itself...I rolled my fenders using the
toll, upon heating it the rubber lining thing started peeling off and
noticed it wasnt part of the fender itself so I removed it and finished
the job. no worries

If your gonna roll them with a baseball bat, go for it, dont freak out
if as soon as yoo start rolling with the bat you see cracking cause
as I said before its just the rubber lining lip.

Just go to your fender and feel for the rubber, you should be able to
see it/feel it.

all of that legal stuff about it not being my fault applies

I'm glad it worked out for you, but I am still going to say - be careful.

I've heard of WAY too many people cracking their paint rolling a fender with a baseball bat.

btw- those pics of the baseball bat? from toy_xBox... he writes that he cracked the paint on the passy side right after that pic.

Hmmm My 2006 has no rubber of any kind on the edge of the front fenders. On the rear there is a bead of seam sealer that seals the edge of the outer 1/4 panel to the inner 1/4 panel. IF THIS CRACKS IT SHOULD BE REPLACED, or at least resealed, as moisture coiuld get in the seam and cause 1/4 panel wheel opening rust down the road. My paint cracked loose from the metal on the very edge of the front fender as I rolled the bumper mounting tab in....heat might have helped, it also might help make the seam sealer in the rear more pliable helping there as well. You do not need to make it so hot that it starts to peel away, we aren't heat stripping we are simply heating it.

I think ROBs was referring to the rear fenders...

I'm confused - why pull the fender and then roll it?

Wouldn't you poll OR roll a fender?

you roll first then pull.. i still need to pull mine. simply just heat and than pull lightly,
its to help with rubbing, gives a little extra clearance if you pull

Ok, whatever - not an area I could give 2 cents about so I'll just leave it alone.

you shouldn't see a difference without being there to see it in person, the white one is extreme, and ugly

my front fenders are slightly rolled (just in the front by the bumper). They are also slightly pulled (I guess) as I moved them outward a little...I didn't actually pull on them I shimmed them. here is a pic but you cant't really see much difference.

xB's come with they're front fenders rolled, well at least mine came like...

those of you who still dont know what rolling fenders is, i'll post up pics
later...but basically all it is, is folding the lip of the fender in to where its
flat or slightly folded for more wheel clearance...so you can throw on wider
shoes

so whats the widest tirest that you can put on without rolling the fenders? this is pretty much whats holding me back from getting rims. I want my rims to be slightly wider than the stock one so that it will look more flushed. Right now im dropped on DF210s.

Ive seen folks go as wide as 18x9 depending on your rims and offset. I see 18x8.5 more often though.

The white scion with the "PULLED" fenders looks like it has melted. Ugly!!!!!!
I cannot understand where you all get off thinking that looks good or that it is cool. It is an abomination!!!!!!

I would not call those pulled but flared. You could not pull the fenders to that shape. What he did was had new wheel openings fabricated out of steel for that look. Very nice execution it looks like...I personally think the look is too big...but diff strokes for diff folks. That is what modding is all about..... doing what makes you happy!!
