sliding rag top
#21
We used 1/4 x 1/8 steel strapping that runs the length of the rag instead of just the washers to prevent the roof from warping when you torque down the frame nuts. We also ran a bead of silicone on the strapping before installing it on the inside of the car.

ok so its basically just a peace that attaches on the underside of the roof, was it just on the sides or all around

thats what i love about the state of Mississippi, your car is an extention of your home, I have a few guns in my box at all times, little .20 cal pea shooter in the cubby by the hood release, Glock 26 in my glove compartment and a sawd off 410 in the compartment in my trunk. as long as i tell the cop when i get pulled over its in there i am good to go.

"As a pre-footnote, the roof is still as strong as it was before, those roof braces aren't welded into the roof they are just tacked from passenger side to driver's side and held on with body sealer at the arch of the brace."
A ragtop is not watertight, it's water resistant. My XB hasn't been a daily for quite some time and when it rains, it's parked. If you think your gonna cut a 36"x55" hole in your roof and have no leaking issues, your in for a rude awakening

Ahh, glad that got cleared up. Officially not on my "want" list anymore.
