Default Those who rock a front end mask

I purchased this item a little while ago to proctect the hood from the already massive amount of paint chips and dings I have. I washed the box the other day and installed. Easy enough..... However, it does not seem to want to sit still. When I am driving on the highway if flops all around and makes a funny noise between 58mph and 65mph. I followed the instructions to a T, so I was wondering if this is the norm with these things or what? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks.

Matt

I have the dealership one that says xB on the left side - mine doesn't have any problems and it is really tight. Are you sure you attached it to the farthest hole on the hood? You have to really stretch it to get it there................

Make sure that front end mask is clean and that you clean it often! If it's flopping around in the wind, it could scratch up your paint real quick.

no doubt! I thought of that. I knew keeping this thing on my car would entail some maintaining, which was initially a turn off for me, then as winter started hitting hard and the front end of my hood started to look like swiss cheese I figured it would be worth the maintenance!!!!

I bought a 12" by 8 foot section of 3M clearbra off eBay, and did the install myself- cost me $40 total!

Do you need a special ahesive to apply clearbra? Or is it just applied using denatured alcohol, water, and a squeegee?

$40 is a great deal btw

yep, I had that same one - the "front mask" from the dealer. $44. CF look, w/ an xB in the corner. it went on very tight, but still flopped around. I took it off after two days 'cause it was making a nice line in the clear coat.
I'm seriously considering the Colgan - like Hawaiianbuilt has.

the 3M clear bra has adhesive on the back of it...you just clean the section with rubbing alchohol and spray down the surcface with a solution of 60% water, 40%alchohol and one drop of baby soap. then you peel the backing off and apply, then squeege out the solution.

i made a template out ouf butcher paper first.....

I'm trying to order my Colgan full bra but am waiting for some answers to questions I had. Wanted to know if I can get it without the foglight holes. We'll see....
