hello

just want to get some input. i have a body shop that does all my custom fiberglass fab work that is willing to replicate the "Rocket bunny front airdam" you may have seen this air dam on the red WORK EQUIP 01 xB car.

well if i can get enough interested people in this air dam they are willing to make the mold and give discounts to those who are serious in buying the item.

my bodyshop does very good work...if you have seen chris rado's wide body TC, they were the ones who built the whole kit so the air dam will be a breeze for them to make.

we just need enough people to get the mold made and take them to get mass produced. you can email me at mikeseez@***.net

So you're going to mass produce a knockoff? What if the company pursues that and files charges of replication? I hate knockoffs. It ruins what's good in our industry. Sorry, but it's the truth. Why not replicate the Vertex kit for the xB? Everyone wants one of those. Or should I say try to replicate one and see what happens.

 

im just trying to bring out new things..something different...the people i deal with are very good fabricators. if you see chris rado's wide body TC, thats their work,,,my frens wife carved that kit up and made it.

if you hate knock offs why ask to make a knock off of the vertex it then?

i just want to make something simple and an easy add on...as for copyrights....they are a business they have the knowledge and info on what is needed to sell these items.

theres people making knock offs of the lover soul flares and knowone is complaining...people like them...im just trying to put something out there different thats hard to even obtain in japan.

i have a 1973 skyline GTX with SR20det V-mount setup and have replicated GTR grill, GTR flares, and GTR wing that came from japan. i have frens in japan helping me by sending pictures to help me replicate a GTR race grill for my skyline, im not ruining anything for them..in japan they are happy that im doing my skyline the way im building it. i can get my parts at PROTEC source for skyline and fairlady parts but why when i can get it cheaper making it...why not share if people like it...if you dont like it...cool...no worries

 

for the most part the brand name companies are putting up with all the knock offs but just give it some time till they get REALLY fed up and then you'll start seeing dust fly with lawsuits galore. LOL somebodies gonna get caught sometime or another and used as an example.

if you're happy with the route you're going then that should be all that matters.

 

the tra-kyoto is an odd peice to come up with. I honestly didn't think there would even be any type of interest since the bandwagon trends toward VIP. I would, I guess, fall on the bandwagon, Although i have been working on this build for a year and a half. But my build has fallen into the trend of what Cali is doing. I have what I want to build. HAve fun with the kit of it works. Get he matching wheels.

 

Sorry to bring this back up from the very dead. Any chance of replicating the damd kit? Lovers soul duck bill?

 

The issue with replicating legit parts is there are only a handful in the US and the people that own those parts don't want them being knocked off and mass produced. Brings down the "legitness" and resale value of the parts.
