I am running SilverStar lows and whatever they came with for the highs.

The letters after the numbers generally denote something like long life, extra bright, stuff like that. They still fit the same.

Im using 9006 12,000K HID and H1 12,000 HID.

and they have been rewired to make both turn on with the high-beam position.

anyone that rides with me complains its too much light on high beams hehe

Yeah I've got a set of 8k HIDs and they look great. The cutoff is awesome. I thought the highs were H3s though?

or maybe H3 I dont remember, you will have to modify the brackets the hold the bulbs Im sure sonar did that on purpose you you wont be able to fit the tungstone rod through if you dont file the holder.

FYI HIDs in the high beam are VERY unnessary but they look great lol

you are correct. you MUST rewire the housings to run HID, and use a certain type of harness.

I promise you will start a fire if you use the the type of harness that plugs into the stock wiring harness. you need the harness that uses the stock harness as a trigger to "click" the relay and the power and ground are used from the battery

Yeah I am running a wiring harness kit that connects straight to the battery, but I was doing that before these headlights. I had my HIDs not light up sometimes because they could not draw enough power to initially turn on through the stock harness.

yea too much amperage through the tiny wires. most ballasts take between 10-20 amps to ignite them imagine that current through a 16-18awg wire

I am running a plug and play kit from Kaixen 6k and I have zero issues with it in the Sonar housings. You might have issues with cheaper ballasts but the Kaixen kits are solid. I got my kit from showstoppersusa.com -- I am not sure if they have it listed on the site but if you give them a call they will hook you up!

I'm runnin 6k in mine that I got from Mobilehid.com it also comes with the wiring harness. It's $170 shipped I believe. Check him out in the sponser forum. Tell him keoki sent ya!

Oh yea the cutoff line is crazy in these projectors. But I got the black housing with clear reflector. I don't know about the chrome housing though.

what ever you do I cant stress enough DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME, I promise repairs will be costly. IE new engine bay harness, which run about $1,000. DO NOT get the Cheap plug n play kits.

Thats why I sell the ones I do and refuse to sell the cheap ones.

Mine have 2 power sources.. relays...fuses. there are 3x30 inline fuses protecting the stock harness, and each ballast.
