KINETIK will kick Optimas butt all day. I have a Kinetik HC1400 under the hood and two HC800's in the back of my tC. Even when I just added the 1800 I noticed a big difference. Check out www.kinetikpower.com, they have some awesome products.
IMO Optima has just acrued the name when it comes to batteries like Dynamat has with damping even though HUSHMAT is better of the way Kleenex has the name when it comes to tissues. How many times have you heard "can i have a kleenex?" Go with Kinetik and you won't be sorry.

if you go onto the Kinetiks webstite and compare the specs for their batteries against Optima......its like winning a race against crippled kid.
Actually look at the stats and you will see who is better

To the OP, why are you looking to upgrade the battery, is it dying on you?
I'm running a Mac mini, 7" touchscreen, JL 300/4 amp and a 500/1 on the stock battery. The Mac even stays on in the car with the key out, just in sleep mode, for up to three days before the computer power supply turns it off. I have not had a dead battery yet, other than when I left the headlights on all day once, and this is on the stock battery. The headlights will dim slightly on heavy bass notes though. For cosmetics, I wrapped the top of the battery in black vinyl to cover the labels and what not for a clean surface under the battery tie-down.
For extended shows, I am looking at buying a Stinger or Cascade Audio Engineering AC / DC 80 Amp supply so I can run the car off of wall power or generator.
I do throw a charger on every two weeks or so at 2A to charge overnight as a precaution. Please note that if you do upgrade your battery capacity, it will still die eventually if it is being drained faster than the stock alternator can charge it and will then still require external charging.
