Default Window Visors and the law..esp CA

Just installed some eSam window visors on by box. I love them. Just curious if anyone (especially Californians) know the legality of them. I know how some of the vehicle code is anti aftermarket accessory,
just curious if the visors violate any laws. I'm going to look at the vehicle code myself, but thought I'd drop a post to see if anyone knew off the top of their head... thanks.

There should be absolutely no reason for those to be illegal. Many vehicles have vent visors as dealer options... They don't obscure anything, so don't sweat it.

totally legal. no reason why they would't be, they block rain, but do not hinder view in or out.
my sisters-in-laws are both Sherrifs and have confirmed - legal in ca

the only way the window visors would be illegal is if you cant see through them. Its called abtruction of view violation. Just like having decals on your front windshield that is in your line of vision is a ticket too. Also cool things hangin from your rearview mirror is a violation that goes with that too. ah well what can you do.

Yeah true.. I don't really hear any stories about people getting pulled over straight up for a mod though. Usually they were speeding or doing something stupid and got a ticket for the mod too.

I have gotton pulled over and given tickets for plate covers, tinted
window vents, and tinted windows.

When i ?nd what i got pulled over for, cop stepped back and
walked around the car 2 see what else he could write up.
Mayb, he was just admirring the ride.
Tried to write me up for tinted window vents, and after he asked
me too roll up my front windows. Said he was gona write up the
tinted windows, after arguing with him, only got a fix it for the
plate covers and written warnings for the rest. WTF!!!
Isn't a fix it ticket a written warning?

Know your rights when rolling in Cali!!!

Thanks for all the info. I used to drive a body dropped Toyota pickup, and I knew the cops in my area by name.

I'm happy with the box because it's not a cop magnet. Thanks again all.

They can only get you for stickers if it's in the wiper path right? Otherwise, you are legally allowed to drive around a mud covered xB with only the wiper sections clean! I'm not a sticker fan nor do I hang things from my mirror but just to push the envelope... when I took my drivers test years and years ago, they wouldn't allow my moms vehicle to be used because it had a small chip in the wiper path. They said it can be outside of it and be ok... of course this was in Maryland, not CA.

I think your right about the wiper path. I know in my line of business, if there is a chip/crack on the windshield we ask for a proof of repair or else we can nonrenew an insurance policy because its a safety issue. xB's in So Cal are pretty lucky compared to other makes that get popped left and right.

I also learned the lesson of having decals on my ride too. long story and off topic so yeah. LOL.

eSams increase vehicle surface area, adding to vehicle drag, causing the engine to produce more emissions, so they aren't CARB legal.

I pray no Cali legislator see this comment. Maybe with the deficit they see tickets as a way to wipe out all the IOU's. Better yet, if you get fined write THEM an IOU. if it's good enough for the government....
