Windshieild chip, FILL OR NOT?
I was washin my car today and noticed a tiny chip in the windshield. the chip is about the size of the tip of a ballpoint pen. I know i can pick up some glass filler at auto zone, but not sure if its even worth it. So its a tiny chip, should i patch it or not???

The guy who use to come fix the truck windows where I use to work told me to use clear nail polish if it's a small chip or a piece of electrical tape barely big enough to cover the chip. The tape looks ugly but I carry it in my car just in case. I have replaced my window 4 times.

I would get it filled...It will eventually crack bigger if something happens around it and that fill will have been a heck of a lot cheaper than replacing the windshield... try the clear nail polish thats a very cheap way to handle it! If not, Im sure there is a glass company that will help you out for cheap!

Windshield cracks ( stars) are repaired using a filler that cures with ultraviolet light. Then, the pit is filled with superglue the excess residue scraped off with a razor blade.
If all you have is a small pit on the outside layer of glass, superglue the hole and scrape after it cures. BUT if you have any king of crack or if the hole extends through the first layer of glass, sealing the outside will possibly be worse than doing nothing at all . take it to a windshield guy.
