So I was about to just spray paint my a-b-c pillars and my headliner and then saw this thread and decided I would have to wrap them all so I dont have to post my oops in this thread

haha! yes, that mirror helps tons! it's got 5 panels, and they are all angled so as to give the driver's point of view a solid image. I can see both of my blind spots without turning my head.

that does remind me of another ghetto mod that i've got!

so... after i took down the stock mirror, I was left with an ugly hole in the headliner. I needed to figure out a way to cover it up.

turns out, legos worked perfectly.

that longer dark grey piece is what the mirror cap clips onto:

That is GREAT! Please post where you got that mirror? I have the hardest time seeing my blind spots now because of my limo tint windows so anything would help. I REALLY need to install a rearview camera in this thing

Most ghetto? This is where I come in ;]

I always wanted a carputer but didn't want to hardwire something into my car. i wanted something portable, something i can hide/conceal and something that did not hack up my cars interior or dash.

So I bought a tablet laptop ($600 - craigslist is my secret lover) and I built this hideous, 99 cent plus tax (cost of the banana) mount for my tablet....

The "foam" I use squeezes into the xb cubby perfectly, tightly and securely. there is very little movement when i am driving and it holds my 3 pound laptop perfectly. I chose this way to mount it so if anyone looks in my car, they wont see the tablet. I can have my setup running by putting in the mount, then placing the laptop in the mount - all within maybe 10 seconds. removing it is just as easy.

Now when I go on road trips, I have navigation, movies at my fingertips (for passengers!) and over 5,000 mp3s to choose from. The mount is ugly as f but I am not going to a car show anytime soon with it. i've used my tablet + mount on numerous road trips and it has been the perfect addition to my box. All that on an gorgeous 12" hi-res screen. It also has a wireless nic and I check my email from time to time while sittin in the drivers seat ;]

Pics of the mount. Please - feel free to LOL and LMAO at it - as I do this all the time. something so ugly and so easy is something so useful ;]

Pic of the mount in place-

why didnt you mount a 10-15" monitor in your dash instead and run your whole audio video system off that?

I'm cheap as hell. I bought the tablet for $600 and didn't wanna spend more on it. I drive my car only from Fridays to Sunday so It doesnt make sense (to me, anyway) to put a ton of money into something i rarely see.

It's like putting a ton of cash into your vacation home that you visit once a year. i didnt see a need for it. this is why my box is almost completely stock. =]

ps - the mount is some really harsh feeling metal so i put the bandana over it to protect the laptop from scratches. it was whatever the store had on hand - i wasnt going to shop around for a black fabric. whatever i had in my hands worked. im a minimalist ;]

I am looking at putting a 15" monitor in with a laptop track pad in the position where the business card holder is!

that's hot. i was actually gonna attach a track pad thing to the "flat" part of the automatic shifter - where the button is. it would be vertical so when i am driving, and i have my hand on the shifter, the trackpad would be under my fingers.

but im cheap so i didnt do it =] l0l0l0l

my original plan was to mount a 17" dell laptop somehow - but im glad i got the tablet. at night, it looks crazy. i had a dude pull up in a porsche cayenne asking me where i got that, etc. that instantly made my ego inflate to dangerous levels. and it was high to begin with =/
