yeah, I got the King Cobra mounts too. I love it, you don't need to remove the front bike wheels. Putting it on is much easier, and less chance of scratching your car. You will not regret it!

Luckily I got air suspension, so I can slam my car and put the bikes on.
Otherwise, you can use a mini ladder to put your bikes on.

Seriously, did you mount them backwards for any special reason. I get my rack and stuff on Weds and could use all the advise you can muster on location, mounting, etc, etc.

Yup, it's mounted backwards. Otherwise the King Cobra mounts will hit the fairing if I went the other way. Besides, I think it looks better that way... like two machine guns on top of my car.

Do the instructions tell you were to place the rack mounts are did you just pick a place that 'felt good'? It you just picked a place that 'felt good' then what made it feel good and can you give me a measurement point?

It is easy to remove the Yakima logo from the fairing, etc.?

Well, I have no choice but to mount the racks as how you see in my pictures, due to my moonroof. Otherwise I would move it closer to the middle. Yakima should come with instructions on where you should mount it (I forgot exact measurements). But you can choose whereever you please. Also, you should consider where to mount depending on whether or not you will have other mounts (bike mount, snowboard mounts), since they can be spaced out differently. And also consider the ease of putting on your bikes/snowboards.

Removing the Yakima logo? I'm not sure how easy it is. It looks like it's just vinyl sticker, so you could probably use a heat gun (or blowdryer) to help remove it.

from the rims, to the trim, to the drop, to the ecode lights, everything is pretty flawless..
pretty much all exactly what im trying to get done.. cept with coils instead of bags.. but man thats one hot ride.. great job

how do those air rides feel on a regular drive? smooth? and what kind of work is needed to fit them up? I'm thinking more and more about adding bags to the list of what I want to do to my box, but its a daily driver and I don't want a crummy... crummier ride, and don't want toyota looking at me funny when it goes in for warranty work

As far as the air ride, the ride is not too bad. But I guess it depends on the shocks you use. The shocks that comes with the AirRunner is alright, but could be better. But I'm not complaining. It is no worst than having stock springs, if not better.

Also, you have to set the car to the right height to have the smoothest ride... the ride gets rough if it's too low or too high.

It depends on what "low" means to you LOL.
I have driven it as low as I possibly could without rubbing the tires.
If I go any lower, I wouldn't be able to turn.
As for the rear, I can go pretty low, since it's cambered, so I have no rubbing issues.
It's a little bumpy, but drivable.

As a side note: It is not recommended to drive all the way down. It even says it in the owner's manual. It can ruin the bags when it's totally deflated and you are driving.

Hmm... I should take a pic someday showing the lowest I can go while driving.


It rides smooth at about 40-45 psi for me. By "rough", I mean bouncy and stiff.


Go to trdsparks.com for the chrome handles/trim.
The handles are pretty tricky to install. Just be careful, dont break anything!
Too bad I didnt take pics of the installation.
