Default 120 mph element

I had a element owner twll me today that his bone stock element could 120 mph. I bet him a c-note as long as he didn't drive offa cliff, that it couldn't, his reply was it would pay for the ticket. Our bricks are far more streamlined than the rounded box. I know that the element has more ponies, but alot more wieght

His other arguement was that since the element cost more, that it is better built vehicle. I don't know why I humor people like him. Any way I just had to vent.

Next time, tell him you love his car so much, you're planning on buying one when you retire. See what he says after that...

My wife and I have a Scion xB and a Element.

I can say that I was able to get the Element up to 105 and still had more RPM's to go, but she was rev'ing pretty high....She may have been able to go 5-7 mph more...not sure...not sure if I want to try again...

The element is more powerful, but heavier and less aerodynamic....

I dont suggest anyone use an Element (or Scion) to try and take any Porsches...

Thanks for the info, 120 just sounds to far fetched. i have friends who have elements but we don't racing down the freeway. My auto xb runs out steam at around 105 but that was down hill on the baker grade.

Next time you should say something along the lines of "Well you may be able to go 120, but at least when you fly past me you'll be able to see my back seat passenger lean out of their window and wave at you in your rear view mirror."

I think it is hilarious how some Element owners and some Scion owners start to compare vehicles. In my opinion they are so totally different. But then again there is that one saying...."Opinions are like a**holes. Everyone has one, and they all stink."

My 2 cents Vicki

Can't the plastic on those thing vibrate at 85 as it is? I guess you have to paint them for the extra HP.

i really dont understand what the purpose of going 120mph in an element or xb would be anyways. first of all if a cop catches you at 100+ your going to be in some deep trouble. second the suspension on these cars are not ideal for 100+ mph. also doing these kind of tests on public roads is pretty stupid but that's just my opinion. just be careful and remember that the scion and element are not sport cars and take it to the track if you are serious about performance.
